Style 97 or 194

Recommended Posts

Seems in my haste i have stuffed this up so starting from scratch first preference is a set of style 97's,bottom photo if not available would consider style 194.

Some of the replies thanks  have been for the 194's looking these over these now. Not much difference between them I know just the 97's are my preferred choice.

Hi Allan, the Style 194s are a staggered set.  8" front ET34, 8J5 rear ET37.

with 225/45R17 on Front no clearance issues whatsoever on my wagon.  Hopefully same for your 325Ti.

with 245/40R17 on Rear no clearance issues whatsoever on my wagon.  Hopefully same for your 325Ti.

Hope that helps.

Here's the comparison between Style 68 and Style 194 for ya:

Front: Style 68 Staggered with Style 194 Staggered (e46 tyre spec)

Thanks been playing around with something similar on another sight. Its interesting to see what happens when you start playing with tyre sizes, rim widths off sets etc.

there are way more 194s available on the market as heaps of E90's came with them as opposed to the 97s which came on some motorosport spec E46 compact hatchbacks.

They do pop up now and then so keep your eyes peeled on trademe etc. I have seen some for around $500.

Note that the specs are a bit different for these two sets of wheels.

Thanks Kyu. on the look out for sure have had a few replies on here and other places still looking That is one reason why i prefer the 97's as they came out on the e46 compact which I own. The 194's are more readily available for sure but designed for a different model as long as one is aware of this knows the off set and tyre sizes before purchasing this trouble can be avoided. Their are so many factors to consider when undertaking this exercise cost of the wheels, transport, refurbishing if required and it can get expensive real quick.
