Its a NZ$500,000 car before the flood damage.  As long as it wasn't salt water, then it could well be returned to its former glory.

Sorry...that is wrong.. Floods have agricultural run off which also includes sulphates that have either been introduced through agriculture , salt use on roads in winter periods and historical coverage by sea sea water which could be millions of years ago. A flood's a flood. Electrical components and wiring will be damaged. There is no way I would touch that at the half the price the bidding has gone to

I was surprised at the $500k comment too - but have no knowledge of them in the NZ market.

Before moving to NZ I was a regular visitor to the Techno Classica at Essen (classic car enthusiasts dream holiday). Z8s there, and this was 7+ years ago, were ticketed at €100k+.

I live in the US, just casually looking at their prices- they tend to be around $150-200k for a standard Z8, with the Alpina versions sometimes up to $300k...
