Random (BMW) pic of the day

Recommended Posts

Hmm. Z1 coupe. Immensely practical and sensible car.

But looks so much like a 2-door Audi B5 A$ Quattro Avant... Which would also be a great car.

Bertone Spicup. Very similar front-end treatment to the Alfa Romeo Montreal (which debuted as a prototype twp years earlier) and was also designed by Gandini at Bertone.

Gandini was very fond of that treatment. He also used it on the Lamborghini Jarama.

From the front it reminds me a little of the GT40.

I'd never heard of if and it makes for interesting reading. Based on a 2800 sedan (and it's a two door)... only one ever made.

Equally interesting to know, how did one get into the car with the roof down? Especially if one was of taller or more solid stature.

It was possible to drop the doors while driving.

Lower the doors, reverse into the seat, swing legs inside. :)
