Wanted E36 M3 Dakar Yellow

Recommended Posts

HI I'm after a tidy low mileage  genuine E36 M3 in Dakar Yellow.  Collectors quality preferred. It will be a treasured car.

Preference to a 3.0 as the Yellow changed for the 3.2.

There was a nice one that went from CHCH to Auckland Last year (numberplate Quik M3).  but not much else seen. (quality wise anyway)

This was the car that got me hooked on BMW's.

From the description and Q&A, that car is a LOOOONG way from being worth collecting. Good toy though.

Would have to be plate and tagged if that was the case?

There is one around that is a 318is shell, with all the M3 gear fitted, but it was certed for it, but registered as an M3......

I do remember that one.

The re-shelled Dakar 318is had a 3.2 Evo motor and 6-speed box fitted. I remember seeing it at Turners for around $10k a few years back, then popped up again for around $15k. Seemed like a lot at the time for a non genuine M3, but these days...probably not.

Here's the Bimmersport thread to that one:
