E46 M3 diff output slop.

Pulled my diff out to do the seals. Noted that the right output has some slop. Is this normal? I would have thought it should not move on the bearing, but some posts I read seem to indicate some play is normal.

yup they pretty much all do , maybe some more than others .

Thanks, to be clear, this is side to side, rather than radial movement. Is it a wear thing? Seems to me that its a bad thing to have that movement.

you can grab the axle and move it up and down
