Captain Sensible Calling...

Recommended Posts

So after selling the E91, I came over all sensible-like and bought a 2008 Mazda 6 Sport Liftback thingamagigee... lovely car - it's the top spec; leather, s/roof, parking sensors (rear), etc... NZ new, 130km, nice light blue/silver colour.

But goooodddddammmmmn it's boring.

So, in the new year it's going on T/me; and will get something sensible (and smaller) for Mrs Smithy (ie: Maz2 Sprt) which'll be our commuter car - and I'll get something cheap with a bit of a pulse. I know, I know, shoulda kept the E91 - hindsight eh!

Anyway if anyone has "a friend" who wants a nice sensible, slightly sporty, Kiwi new liftback with a decent service history. Let me know. Price-wise will be around the $10k mark - will probably advertise in the 11's.

Cheers

Slightly Frustrated of Lower Hutt.

Rather than buying two cars after you sell this mistake, could you just get a decent NZ New 1 series? That way it’s small enough for your wife and you can still get one that’s fast.

not really, i mean except for the obvious which is the speed.

I would rather drive the 116i as a daily and even on trips its perfectly fine.

Once I sell the 6 I'll be getting Mrs Smithy something small and hatchbacky from Asia - I've got my eye on something else for me :)

The 6 is goneski - traded on a suitably small, hatchbacky, and Asian as per above... now to find a weekend hack for me. Something not completely boring and with a very limited budget (like, $5k) so sorry @treone - the M car is a way away yet for me sadly; got other priorities this year (namely mortgage smashing).

I borrowed one a few years ago in Wellington - a manual though - it was seriously rooted. Car was maybe 1998.

My pick - something m-sportish... of either 6 or 8 cylinders ?

Yes, there are plenty of 540i options in and around Wellington - also checked out a nice original 535i whilst in Nelson the other day... bluddy boring spec tho.
