Could be a Bargin 135i $1 Reserve

Recommended Posts

Miss M goes for her restricted driving test tomorrow. (Fingers crossed!)

She'd like a 1-series.

Can't help but feel a 135 is not really the correct choice, though. :D

Isn’t it though...?

Wonder what the policy is for test drives? I probably can’t show proof of that much funds, but I could leave a child as collateral.

Reached $7,000 and still 4 days to go. High do you think it will go?

I think they'd want an asset, not a liability, for collateral.

Yeah, but then I would have to come back and pick it up, rather than leaving it behind and not returning!

Only $12K. That's gotta hurt......

Oh man, that's tragic lol. Whoever bought it got one hell of a deal.

I actually love $1 reserve auctions, and mucho kudos to HellBM for running this one under those conditions.

IMO this kind of thing kind of sets a benchmark for a true market driven referable price point for these cars. Anybody serious about a 135i can now point to this (really nice) example and say, with confidence, that is what the NZ market thinks these vehicles are worth. And therefore the $20k (or whatever) you are asking may be a little optimistic.........

I think the reason it sold for cheap(er than expected) probably lies with the fact that this is a re-registered car, despite having some nice upgrades.

I don't think it sold cheap, its where I thought it would end. I use the benchmark set by 130i MSports. How much more s a MSport 135i worth?

  • 20%
  • 30%
  • 50%
  • 80%

I think between 30% and 50% IMO and this is where it ended up, but some of the guesses here were suggesting over 100% more. A 135i is not double the value of a 130i.

you can look at it any way you want. bottom line is that a 135i comes up on the market and the lowest asking price is usually $15k, what it sells for in the end may be 14k or so depending on how urgent they want the cash.

Seeing as this sold for $12k, it is a good indication that re-reg vehicles are definitely not worth it because it drops the value by 20% even despite it having a lot of extra add ons.

a 130i is worth anywhere between 6-12k these days depending on condition and options. I dont think anyone ever thought that a 135i was worth double a 130i. When I bought my 130i, I paid 15k and sold for 12k. At that time a 135i was 18-22k.
