Any recommendations before I buy?

Recommended Posts

Newbie here.

thinking to buy a BMW 320i 2013 with 94ks on it.

What’s the average cost for pre-vehicle inspection?

I heard about preventative maintenance for euro cars. Is that a good choice before driving it?

I’ve been researching and came across this forum. Hope to hear from you fellas.

this might be my 1st bmw.

thanks

BMW Winger in Welly charge $250 for a pre purchase inspection.

I paid $200 for a pre purchase inspection at a euro independent workshop yesterday on a BMW.

Get an inspection from someone that specialises in BMWs, forget about that AA type sh*t, they don’t even read the fault codes.

Thanks for the advice.

Do you recommend getting the preventive maintenance right after getting the car? It’s something I didn’t do from Japanese cars but a friend did this to avoid more problems.

That's a really difficult question to answer... I certainly don't think you'd need to do it all at once as soon as you purchase.

You pre-purchase inspection (PPI) may throw up a few things you need to do but it's not likely to identify all (any?) of the preventative items. So I'd save some dollars for what comes out of the PPI (if anything) and then create a list of items you consider preventative and perhaps post that list on the forum here and see what people think about the relative priorities.

So essentially, save some money but don't expect to have to spend it all at once.
