Ugh. Doing the wiper blades yourself isn't going to touch your warranty.  Same with the micro filter.

$150 for two bits of rubber and two minutes labour is just stupid.

Thanks for the comment. I'll do next time.  Do you know what parts wouldn't touch the warranty?

Think of things that would not affect the mechanical operation of the car. 

You could actually do anything you want if you do it right.

Well, in this case he was going to pay the $350 anyway, might as well get new blades and filters thrown in.

But I agree, some of those prices seem excessive but probably explainable if they're sourcing from BMW NZ who have ridiculous parts pricing.

^if I am not mistake, I think the OP has paid every bit of the service, including the wiper blades and filters, and the $350 excess was for the expansion tank and hose ONLY which is treated as a "breakdown/fault" whereas the others are just a part of the upkeep.
