My new BMW - e91 Project Updates

Recommended Posts

So I'm back to BMW, the 4AGE was a dream but you can't beat BMW

Hopefully picking up some msport wheels today. Bit of stuff to do to it. Needs some love.

Also open road I'm getting 7l to 100km on 325i !!! Wow!!

I guess I'll lose all that in suburban driving

Some better photos,

I'm just going to end up using this post as my project post, got a bit of stuff I want to do to it.

First on a bit of a fixing mission, and a clean.

Then onto

- grills

- wheels

- trim

Performance improvements essentials like painted calipers and rocker cover cowl

Gave it a full clean, shampoo vaccumed the carpet and took to the wheels with some scotch brite and handy andy.

Given it some life,

might even hit it with some  2000grit, meguiars polish and wax it

now trying to sort some wheels - all though those stock standard ones don't look too bad all cleaned up

might make the stock ones plasti-dip black in the mean time or something

After a bit of luck I managed to score some genuine BBS RX206 18" Wheels that just need a bit of curb rash sorted out

They not bolted up just yet, but they are going to look mint

going to fix all curb rash, and re-paint them - I plan on going gunmetal on them

nice find!

$200 ....... including tyres, WHAT LUCK!

I went to pick em up because i thought the style would fit

then once i cleaned up all the brake dust, i see all the BBS engravings

Condition isn't too bad, but intend on fully restoring them, worth holding for a bit, they look like they worth alot in good condition

for $200 its a great buy and its a very decent fit on the E91 spec wise.

I wouldnt go pouring money into it because its not worth THAT much. market valve would be around $500 for the wheels alone and maybe $800 with decent good condition tyres.

But I know you are refurbing them yourself so its all good but if you were paying someone to do it at $200 a wheel its not worth it for sure.

yeah mate,

Was having to fix up the bumper on the missus car, so i got some gun metal paint while i was at it,

so $40 in paint for all the rims, at worst i might buy some alloy filler ($20) to fill in the curb rash, as I generally don't like filing into a rim unless i absolutely have to

Hoping the gun metal colour hides this build brake dust a bit better, it's an epidemic !

I cleaned the wheels last week, and they covered in brake dust already lol

Went to town with a file and orbital sander on the rims, still a few holes that i might use alloy filler or primer to sort out

I think these photos say it best

Paint has arrived,

should be getting the wheels and rocker cover cowl painted in the next few days

I found a Perfect BMW blue i thought would accent a silver shell, even debating doing the brake calipers with it too!

Wheels - Terminator colour, like a dark gunmetal

Chucked some tyre shine on it, really brought out the look

A few other things i was planning on doing to it

- Blacking out chrome trim

- Matte black or carbon fibre interior trim, no more wood grain

- Blacking out the grill

Going matte black on the trim, no more woodgrain!

decided matte black over carbon fibre because it nearly pulls of a stock standard look

was hoping the vinyl would hide some of the cracks in the center console trim, nearly does, but really happy with how it all came out.
