Cheers Adro.

Yeah Besian has the reputation but charge like crazy!

the X8R kit has a lot more gaskets and stuff in it, including anti rattle kit

i've not done any of this before but make sense to me to do it all while the engine is open.

not that i'll do it myself but rather get my local indi to work on it.

Yeah that looks like a good kit, mine didn't come with the VC gaskets though.

Here's the kit i got : https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-DUAL-VANOS-O-Ring-Seal-Repair-Kit-E36-E39-E46-E53-E60-E83-E85-M52tu-M54-M56/121144809321?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

The Vanos job is actually a piece of piss on the m54, no need to disturb the static cam timing, plenty of how-to's out there. They key is to keep the new piston ring seals in some very warm water, but not boiling so that they expand enough to be able to fit on to the pistons.
