Initial maintenance to do - Purchased 1990 325i e30 M20B25

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

looking for some advice on the go to first maintenance bits to do on a car that has been stored for a decade in a garage, it has been run and driven occasionally (total 500km). What are the first things to get done and tackle.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Hey Sam - replace rubber hoses, all the fluids, filters, check brake and fuel lines, check fuel tank for leaks, especially when you fill up past the seam. Also check brake pads and rotors...

Thanks mate! Would you also say to do all the belts?

Also check for anything that you can grease, check condition of tyres for rot/perishing. Would also pay to drain the tank and use new fuel.

Thanks for the advice from everyone that posted, was really helpful!. The car got everything done at Apex on the North Shore in Auckland by SJ, 11/10 recommendation. Don’t send your car anywhere else.
