https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=2361895715 Hard to find in NZ spec IMO, but is flawed, thanks to high Ks.

I have the PPI I did this morning for the car intending to buy, if a braver soul (read, has a few k lying about ABOVE the purchase price)  than I would like to buy this, I have the carjam report too. PM Me if you would like either.

About 5k over priced in my opinion. Plenty of them to be had under the 10k mark

Trademe and Facebook are light on them at the moment. I would love to know where the others are so I can get a diesel one.

Maybe exaggerated with 'plenty' but anything $1 reserve goes sub 10k. Two examples where here in Chch, 3litre petrol with 120k for $6500. V8 with 220k for 7ish. Both had all the big stuff down like suspension airbags, valley plate on the v8 etc etc

That’s interesting because I got 12K on trade in for my 2007 4.8 non-msport at Auckland City BMW... I think it ended up at a used dealership with blacked out wheels (yuck) and sold for closer to 20k. I only had 120k on the clock though.

I have a set of Brembo front pads and rotors left behind for anyone is in need of some - still in boxes.

I've been keeping my eye on them and plenty in that 12-20k bracket that just don't seem to sell

This is the v8 one that sold recently

https://www.trademe.co.nz/2408178260

I’m not sure about how common it is in NZ but if you read the US forums this V8 is a hand grenade with the pin half out at this mileage, just waiting for the valve stems to go.

Yeah the valve stem seals go at half the mileage on some of them, but at 6.5k it's alot of car for very little money

Being the single turbo m57 model I would say that's good buying, if the trans has been serviced it will be a winner.

Much less costly to own than any other e70, would be the only one I would touch

I don't believe it would have air suspension?

The petrol ones are garbage now they're at this age.

V8 for 11k ono

https://www.trademe.co.nz/2412795085

3litre petrol for 9k

https://www.trademe.co.nz/2446883962

Couple of 30ds on trademe for 10k to but closing in on 300km but they are overpriced in my opinion. Those engines aren't bulletproof, had 3 with bearing failures in the last 6 months

What was the cause of failure? If the fuel filter isn't done regularly they tend to have a lovely habit of diluting the oil especially with lots of cold starts. But that's a servicing fault.

We ran two for towing at my last job and the 3.0d was solid as a rock. The 30d/sd was a pain though. Not as trouble free as the e53s were

One of them hadn't been serviced in 60,000km at all which caused the turbo to go and then no doubt f**ked the bearings as well. Unsure myself what was the cause of the other 2

I feel that no servicing for 60k before a failure just shows how well the vehicle was built!

You mean it's not a corolla and I have to service it ?

I don't think we will get the full story on the other two, fresh import f15 from Japan started knocking away. The premier e70 40d a salesman traded without finding put what the check engine light was on for....

Did the e70 get rebuilt?

Is that the one for sale in Chch? There’s a couple down there I think?

Sure, if it's no problem. I'm a month away from doing anything, but I always research (procrastinate) for ages before hand.

I might be keen on the front pads and rotors if you've still got them. Can you please flick me part numbers so I can check they'll fit?

I picked up my 2006 E53 3.0D for $3k, high k's (355) but full service history and first owner did a 300k round trip 5 days a week. Apart from some minor common issues (exhaust manifold cracked, front wheel bearing going, front LCA bushes worn etc.) it runs and drives incredibly well for it's age and high k's - drove it to Auckland and back early December with zero issues.

They are around, this one turned up on post-a-note - not a place I'd usually look.

@Mad_Max let me check for you on the part #

I do know my X5 had the bigger front brakes (365mm) or there abouts for the rotor diameter. That should be the only fitment issue.
