E87 LCI 130i Battery type?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Quick question here before I move it to Electrical.

Our little 1 series battery is on the way out.  It's currently not on hand to check the numbers.  But I am heading to Wellington today and would like to grab one for it.

All I have scribbled down in some notes is that it is currently 680CCA 75AH.  But I have no idea if it is AGM or not.

Anyone know if this car requires an AGM battery?

What is your recommended brands.  BMW wants a little too much for a standard battery.  $612.

Dan, I've had happiness with two Koba batteries.  Reasonably priced, seem like good quality.

Sorry, no idea re AGM for the e87.  I'd say 'likely'.

I don't have stop/start and going by how the battery looks for the shitty photo I have I think it is non AGM.

Anywhere I should go in Wellington to get one today Olaf?

Also just realised the REPCO batteries are the YUASA brand.

Is it the original BMW battery? If so, white = lead acid, black = AGM

Having thought about it some more, 75aH is unlikely to be original battery as they typically tend to be 70,80,90 etc

Yeah I just discovered that in the programming options.  Increments of 10 only.
