So quick update i swapped the shift linkage with modz here but it was to short

ive now installed the 220 getrag  linkage in and the car starts and drives fine

Why does it need shortening is it so it lines up with the transmission hole or another reason

I thought the shortening was a 4 cyl to 6 cyl thing?

i thought so too. Definitely had to have mine shortened when using 4pot linkages on my 6.

Can you get all gears, especially 5th, or does it hit the surround? Looks pretty well placed to me, is it even meant to be centered in the hole?

4cyl engines sit 25mm further forward , just buy some e46 323i shifter bits

Problem is I can't find the correct parts. No one sells manual bits.

also there is no factory driveshaft option for getrag box to 330i type diff

you will have to get one made up using your auto one

or swap whole rear end to a 323i 325i type (down grade) which is just sad

Yeah I know, I'm having my auto one extended, and i had to make a cross member from scratch
