Recommended Posts

hey guys first BMW

just been doing a bit of a once over on it and seen I was a bit low on coolant

few quick searches and the Majority returns are use BMW coolant

obviously cant get to the BMW dealer to get some.

Is there anywhere it can be ordered? or is there another brand I can get that's basically the same?

Not that I'm aware of.

And no, don't use anything else but the bmw blue stuff, and distilled water.

Unfortunately you may have to wait until after the lockdown.

If its a little low you can top up with plain/distilled water, but dont use any other coolant or it can mix and have big issues.

As above if you just want to top it up use water, not going change anything long term unless its already been heavily diluted in the past. You can run a 40\60 coolant to water ratio without issue and probably 30\70 if you had to.

Plenty of other acceptable coolants you can swap to IF you drain and flush out the BMW stuff

Is what i use these days as it meets BMW spec and isn't way overpriced like the BMW stuff seems to be these days.

You can buy demineralised water from the supermarket and they're still open. But I wouldn't make a special trip for it.
