Worthless gains above 5500?? (the words "agent provocateur" comes to mind!)

Post the numbers above 6000, wouldja...

Because those "worthless gains" will save significant time off your

0-60...

On a BMW, the revs above 5500 aren't there to LOOK AT.. they are there

to DRIVE..every day..

Try this: 1st.. redline.. 2nd.. redline.. 3rd..

Then get back to us....

Where is the closest Dyno place to me? I'm in Gfield, Nrth Shore.

I think there is one somewhere on Porana Road but don't know what's da name. Any clue ???

A new sticky thread.

Post up your engine power/torque [measured at the wheels] and 1/4 mile times.

Must be accompanied with Dyno graph and drag slip times. Please convert to kW and trap times to kph

List will constantly be updated. Right now i'm just going off the top of my head on some powers so we will correct the list as it gets updated by members.

martyns (top cat ) e28 86 M535i turbo rough tune 253Kw 12Ibs . dont know torque (but it feels likes heaps)..

my e28 M535i with M5 engine only did 153Kw 345Nm , but that is with 3.07 diff have just fitted 3.73 diff should be better now.

A new diff won't get you more power

gavin wreckons different results , like changing wheels etc higher gearing is like turning bigger/heavier wheels etc .

same power at flywheel but different results measured at the wheels .

I really can't see how it will change. horsepower is torque x rpm. as you know changing a diff will change torque to the wheels, but will also change rpm accordingly and should result in the same power, The same should also be true for the torque if you run in a 1:1 gear and account for the diff ratio each time.

My e30 at the moment running 12psi at a 65% tune is putting out 270hp at the wheels and has done a 13.42 at night speed on all 4 chromes. was doing 174.something km/h at the speed trap.

still in need of retune at higher boost etc but not bad for now.

just a few bolt ons, have reduced car weight quite a bit since running at drags last (mostly do circuit clubsprints/hillclimbs/motorkhanas etc) so I think 12.7 is achievable now

Damn, I've finally been knocked off the top NA spot.

Those are great times. Run on road tyres? or a race compound (DOT rated)?

I need to get those intake and exhaust mods done and see if I can retake the lead.

Well, I was referring to BMW powered cars Riley, and yours has an estimate of power at the Flywheel, whereas mine is at the wheels.

The 540 is 214kW at the flywheel, so I win on that basis still (compared to your beast).

I'll look forward to the 1/4 mile time.

You'll have to get it around Ruapuna and compare lap-times. The 540 has done a 1 minute 53 second time. (full track, excluding dipper)

no no mine is 279.1hp/208kw at the wheels, i thought it was at the fly but its not.dynapac dyno :) i was very suprised to dont worry.

So mines more like 250kw at the fly est.

Getting another 30kW out of the 4 litre might be a bit of a stretch for me. I guess 210kW at the wheels in my new target then.

I'll let you know as I get more.

run 13.02 @ 106.48mph on goodyear eagle F1 G3's with 1.8x 60', 12.982 on Kuhmo ecsta V700(1.797 60'), have some drag radials now, but only got a couple of runs before I snapped driveshaft bolts, can still launch harder yet

ahhh dynapack dyno so thats not quite correct either.....the dynapacks calculate a PS horsepower figure I beleive.My 535 measured about 140kw at rear wheel,but apparently this is not correct....i thnk there is a pot about this earlier in this thread around where i published my results.

The only way to compare approx power between cars is the use of the same dyno on the same day with the same operator.
