I've recently purchased a NZ new CL600 coupe. 138k on the clock and near immaculate condition. Only problem I can fault is she is bouncy in the rear SLS which is apparently nitrogen accumulators (90 usd each, not bad). I also have an S500 with the M119 in it which is 230kw. A really strong motor and more low down torque than my 290kw FG XR8 6 speed auto. But the 290kw M120 coupled with the five speed auto is out of this world. Actually the whole car is. Smoothest thing I've ever been in and a real pleasure to drive. These things were so ahead of their time. The five Series BMW and S Class Benz are my favourite models of cars. There is something about the 140/129 series that has an aura about them. I don't think there are many cars around that are built and well as these, I guess it takes spending some time in a good one to know what I mean as I can't really describe it. Ive no experience with the E31, but the power figures and price tag of the 850i are a little off putting compared to what I've just bought (I paid not much more than $10k). Id be happy to meet up with an 850i owner for comparison sake if they are too. Im not a huge fan of the coupes exterior. I much prefer the square wedge shape of the grille, tail and head lights of the sedan. But I don't have to look at it when driving so not too much of an issue for me.

Sadly my 540i needs to find a new forever home. Awesome car always brought a smile to my face when I was driving and I'll be sad to see it go but could be a good project for someone else who doesn't have a new baby and no mechanical skills.. Been running great up until I noticed some oil in the radiator and it's been sitting in the garage ever since. Had a compression test done which confirmed my worse fears... Head gasket. Time for a sensible station wagon anyway. Nice car, heaps of extras, a joy to drive, a lot of car for the age. Replaced the air bag control unit less than 6 months ago, also had the aircon serviced and timing guide rails replaced in its time with me. Take a look, opening bid is $1500 I'm open to resonable offers but I'd rather split it into parts than give it away. Cheers https://trademe.co.nz/1261051911

BP5 Legacy/Outback is a great car, but by no means it is as spacious as a soft roader. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/auction-1266186247.htm self importing could be possible for these? or is that an unnecessary stress at this point.

For the coin if i was in the market and given it appears to be an enthusiast owner i'd expect a preventive maintenance history vs an as needed maintenance history.

welcome to the forum, Ian. love to see some images of your e39. My brother had an '02 530i motorsport from new, it was a beaut car. Fond memories. Got much space in Arrowtown for parking? There could be a road trip contingient to visit our more southern members!? You should fnd plenty of assistance round here, a good number have had - or still run - e39s, and many of the Msport variety. again, Welcome!

Productive day today! Removed and sold my blue recaro seats Have money in the budget to fix up my black sets driver bolster, so those will go in the car eventually! Moved the M30 back to my place and got it in the engine bay for a test fit. Just realised I don't have trans bolts so if anyone has some lying around?? M3 (S14) flywheel resurfaced, M20 clutch kit and cleaned up G240 ready to go together also Will remove and finish res praying the engine bay hopefully in the next fortnight
