Random act of a good bugger yesterday at supermarket Sun was out yesterday in Palmy so I risked a visit to the supermarket in the M3, saw a nice Alfa 159 wagon decided to park next to it (therefore person cares about their car and wont let his door hit mine). While parking this guy walks up to my car and asks if I would like a new mag wheel for my car for free, it was the owner of the 159 who at one stage had an E36 M3 and this wheel had been sitting in his garage for years. He wouldn't accept payment so if you are ever in Palmy for the night and need a motel the manager /owner of http://citycorporate.co.nz/ is a good bugger and I assume he would run his motel the same way. He also had a Gulia in the garage

Shout out to Gavin for being an all-round helpful bloke. Had a few occasions lately where I've needed stuff urgently, and he has always turned it around, next day delivery (to whatever address I've given), and even included sweeties in the box. All supplied with the forum discount, too. ?

It may be cheeky but I reckon fair play. Everyone wants to make some $$ and if you spend enough time researching the market value so that when an opportunity comes up you can jump on it, I think you deserve the margin you make on it. As coop said, there was ample time for an enthusiast to buy it. Sure its depressing seeing an evo vert for 33k but hey, if it wasn't selling in Auckland for 30, it won't sell in Palmy for 33k lol

So just before the holidays, I got my box of parts so was able to fit up the new radiator with new mounting clips and bits, new oil cooler, new grill insert and p.plates and surrounds and all new bumper trims. And because I’m not using it for grasskhanas anymore, fitted all the undertrays thst got replaced last time this happened. So she’s back on the streets! Also swapped out the CAI to see if that was causing the weird flat spot and miss, but no difference. So will need to try the exhaust now and see if that later the issue.

As some members know i sold my previous e30 after 7 years of ownership and many good memories, adventures and people i've met along the way with it. I'm going to miss it, but onto the new bigger and better project! [ E30 ] VERSION ONE HERE: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/15962-my-320i-e30/ Now the next project has started and the addiction continues… A 1989 320i E30 Touring I bought this car on May 3rd 2014 from Ellerslie in Auckland, previous to that it had spent some time down in Christchurch , where it survived the February 2011 earthquake, with some superficial panel damage. Its going to be a long and slow project, but i have a vision and know what i want the final product to be. Enjoy the ride! The day i purchased the car The journey begins! Standard e30 rusted sunroof panel Decided to give her a polish up before i got too carried away Engine and gearbox out, ready for the dream to become a reality Current state

It’s not really my argument. Just stating a main reason why dealers can list for a higher price than a private seller. Offering cheap and easy finance opens up more potential buyers.

I was thinking the same thing. If he thinks he can get 33k for then fair enough, the market will decide and it will sit there on the yard for another year plus. If you want to buy it offer them $25k and see how you go Its no different from buying something from facebook marketplace for below market rates and then selling it on trade me for market rate for a profit.

The average joe doesn’t have $20-30k to drop on a car. Let alone something that is more a weekend car/hobby/something that is going go to require on going R&M like an aging M3. Some might be able to via business or adding into the mortgage, but I’d say most don’t. So enter the dealers where they can offer cheap and easy finance. Easier for people who can’t afford it, to afford it. I thought the four door M3 was a good price (going off the ad and pics). There was ample time for an enthusiast to purchase that car, as it had been on the market for a while... snooze you loose I guess.

I know people disagree with me (they're just doing their job, they had the money to buy it, blah blah), but damn dealers are the scum of the earth. They're no better than your average tardme car flipper, buying, washing it, taking photos and selling for a large mark up like they earned it. Taking the opportunity to buy these cars away from legit passionate potential owners, and then pricing them out of the market, with their "superior buying power".

Introducing my newly acquired E82 135I ? Very happy to be back in a BMW, my last E46 was written off by a drunk driver a couple of years ago ? I straight-swapped for my manual MK5 GTI. My plans include an intake/inter-cooler upgrade, 3' cat-less exhaust, stage 2 tune etc. Here's a couple of pictures ?
