Wow, 10 Years on, and still shines up ok. Just had a major 25th birthday and is the best its ever been in my ownership, I would say it drives pretty much like new. All new suspension and steering, including Bilstein's. Lots of servicing, all leaks fixed, hpc coated cam covers, diff seals, subframe bushes, etc, the list really does just go on and on. FCP have been great!

Hello...My 2007 130i 6 speed finally arrived from Japan to New Zealand. Currently at the groomers getting ceramic coated. Its a white M Sport so I got the painters to paint that grey rear valance black, and removed the 130i and the m badge! Fitted gunmetal Avanti 11 spoke wheels, flat bottom leather and alcantara steering wheel from Lativa, Genuine BMW short throw gear lever that I scored new sealed bag off Ebay via the USA as well as a Storm Motorwerks weighted gunmetal gear knob from the UK, Pedal Haus aluminum pedal covers from Europe (to be fitted), LUX H8V3 bulbs, new floor mat set, new alcantara hood lining fitted, Gloss black grills etc. Looks like a new car. This will be my daily for work as I had a desire to row gears, gave my E70 35i M Sport to my wife so that will remain our family car and will sell her NZ new X3.

If you really want an e30, you’re not better off with an e36 anything. Though undeniably, the e36 and e46 are objectively better-engineered, safer, stiffer and more sophisticated cars. ?

Careful, not allowed to speculate about cars in here!

Hmmm.... maybe... I like how he says the rod bearings have no signs of failure. If he opened it up to check then why not put new bearings in? (they are cheap). Otherwise if a rod bearing is showing signs of failure... its failed already. That or hes magic and can see through things

does anyone else just get a feeling of "used and abused" from this? half arsed photos, gumby boi shifter, comments from the previous owner... dunno why, just get that feeling about it ?

I'm going to leave them as is, I quite like the blue. A guy in the UK did his in satin black with Brembo decals and they did look very good but I don't want to faff around.

Their motivation for buying an e30 isn't important to me; though what price the market is standing, is of interest. Mine's not for sale, isn't an investment, it's driven regularly, and is fun. I have no plans to sell. However, if some CUB walked up and offered me a keen and serious price well above market - at a level that stops objections - I'd have to consider it, wouldn't I. Does that make me a degenerate? No, I'm an enthusiast.

The very least BMW NZ could have done was fit a Euro plate. That NZ standard plate looks like somebody tried to finish a job and gave up half way through. In fact, BMW should fit Euro plates as standard to every new car they sell, cheaping out, whilst common, is hardly befitting.

I hate how BMW put the the LHS decals on upside down... ? They should look "correct" on the calliper, regardless of how it's installed on the vehicle... like every other calliper on Earth. ?

Quite a difference, especially at the moment between "asking" and receiving. Most of us know, as well, the better cars are moving to new garages quicker outside the vicious forum that Trade Me has become?

E36 Ti is 1\2 an E30 and imo aren't that far off the actual driving experience (one of the main reason i and many bought an E30 in the first place) IF 318i's are actually selling for the asking prices then i can only assume the buyers are degenerate fans or people buying as an investment rather than actually use, maybe both. Vast majority ive seen for sale ive seen have had the bare min amount of work done to meet WOF standards etc, but want top dollar for their worn peasant spec car.

Why do NZ Euro dealers refuse to spend a few hundred on a correct fitting number plate?

Hi Guys, just thought I’d revive this thread with some more Kerry praise. Sent my E36 MID (8 button) down to him last week and he’s done a great job. Fixed the faded/broken pixels on the screen with a ribbon change. Cost was $115 and $10 for shipping. Great communication with updates and fast turnover A+. PM me for his mobile number.

Glad I've almost finished working on the M3 so I can move it out of the carport because these arrived this morning... ??

In the flesh, and with an NZ plate mounted. M-Sport front bumper and grille.. Love the rear-three quarter haunches on this car, much broader than traditional BMW coupes, very prominent in the mirrors. To me it is quite Mustang-esque in those shoulders, but not in a bad way.

yep, the '94 205gti-c went to a buyer from Perth. He's a happy chappy!! The Peugeot was moved on to make room somewhere for the replacement car. A JDM....... 1985 Toyota Corolla Levin AE86. A rust-free survivor with a few needs. But I don't think you will find many as original as this one.

Wow, with these prices on E30’s I don’t know if I’m better to garage, modify, or swap mine for something more comfortable and safe.
