Arh, spring compressors. I tried them once. Now I take the struts to Goodyear, they have a hydraulic tool in a cage that does both struts in less than 15 minutes. Costs me $50 and I get to keep my fingers and face just the way I like them.

I bought the repco ones and thought they were better than the supercheap ones at around the same price

Mine had same setup. I looked at changing it to single pump and looked like it was gonna be pain in the ass. The hose from the in tank to the high pressure pump is quite large in diameter and probably not rated for high pressure. So would definitely look at changing that.

Signing off on this side for now until I finish the other side. May revisit for a small skim coat to add tenths or a mm here and there. Have her a clean from kilos of body filler and dust I'm struggling to see imperfections in the rear quarter panel which is a good sign I'm near completion. Took alot longer than expected, learning how to sand on a complex contour. But no regrets here ALSO, This colour is MONEY!

I've been slowly working on it since I got it, and lately I've been able to do a bit more. So far I've done: Manual swap with Getrag Style 32 wheels 17x8 et20, painted by myself Clear indicators all round Removed rear seats and sound deadening, put black vinyl to cover the rear area Installed front fixedback bucket seats Momo Prototipo steering wheel (my favourite wheel ever) Redid the door cards in white vinyl, with a special touch Removed rear speakers and all amps etc Revshift Polyurethane 95a engine, gearbox and diff mounts Aluminum steering coupler joint thing to replace the rubber flex disc, my friend custom made for me Purple tag steering rack with brand new tie rods (What a difference!) Rear muffler replaced with straight through twin pipe muffler Carbon cold airbox (which I want to improve to feed more cold air) AC deleted and all components from engine side removed Couple more bits here and there

I got a new e46 wagon to replace Babara. I'm super excited about it, she drives great, and I have some upgrade plans. I bought it from Jon @E30 325i Rag-Top, he was great to deal with, and has looking after the car really well - I'm still going through the stacks of service history paperwork. The car is a 2004 e46 330D msport touring with six speed manual - here are some photos I took just a few minutes after I bought it; It has a bunch of options like headlight washers, parking distance control, cruise control, factory bluetooth, rain sensing wipers, steering wheel controls, auto headlights etc. Its awesome to drive and has heaps of power, but I have lots of plans for upgrades; 1. Electric fan mod 2. Change interior to black, or dye the existing grey one 3. Refurb the wheels and get 245/40/18 tyres on the back 4. Replace shocks for bilsteins 5. Chip tune 6. Black grills 7. Full detail and clean when the Auckland water restrictions are over 8. Upgrade speakers 9. Paintless dent removal on the little supermarket carpark dings 10. Fix broken fuel filler door 11. Upgrade towbar wiring 12. Polish all the lights 13. Strengthen the subframe mounts 14. Switch out the mph cluster for a kmph cluster

These were refurbished before I put them on, new genuine centre caps Painted BMW Nogaro Silver with a touch of gold pearl in the clear Good tyres ready to go on car. Just need a clean $600 + 120 shipping depending on where exactly it might be slightly more

S O L D Inbound back to Auckland. The best part of owning this car was the interaction with other E39/BMW owners, thanks to everyone who helped me source parts and helped me trying to diagnose issues. What a trip it’s been. Sold to a non bimmersporter, but hopefully it’s gone to a good home.

Front plate holder sorted, diagnostic cap replaced, HVAC unit replaced, new one is much quieter but yet to see if it helps with the battery drain issue.

Serviced everything down to a new waterpump, still got to research how to change fluid on the CVT, but Seri graphics did a slick job. Things actually pretty fun to drive. Its slow as sh*t but it actually grips fairly well, and the TRD exhaust sounds hilarious once VTEC kicks in yo (even got a pop!) and the CVT paddle shifters nearly behave like a DSG

After the tyre incident i learnt my lesson and pulled what good kit i had off my 328 and dumped it into the LS, fixed it up and booked another day, determined to learn track 2 at taupo ( link all the drift sections). Was pretty nervous heading back out again, esp coming in hot to the dip where i had the crash, but persistence pays off and by the end of the day i was linking the full drift section. Its a weird uneasy feeling going 90+ kph sideways. IMG_4091.MOV
