Snapped this beautiful Black 635csi in Birkenhead this morning while having breakfast. Plate was ‘SIXBMW’ and looked mint, tastefully lowered on BBS 👌

So much arguing over an engine none of you are buying. Typical 3Pedals rubbish, good to see you never change.

Looking around for an e28, open to anything at this stage and willing to travel. Cheers!

E60/E61 CiC idrive conversion. Complete and ready to swap. Massive oem upgrade from the horrible and unreliable ccc system. Has nz maps (2015) and upgradable as well as nz radio. Very rare to find for this chassis. Also has the benefit of storing music on the in built HDD. Emulator adds video in motion and reverse camera option if you want to add one. Feel free to ask questions or about the install. Includes CIC iDrive unit CiC screen (with cable & power plug) Controller (with plug & tails) Cic center console trim Idrive faceplate LCI button panel (not needed) Usb module for glovebox (no cable) Conversion emulator $1500 West auckland

And another, albeit appears to be an exceptional example, just listed at $78K.

The one major issue I had with mine was the evaporator core developed a leak. I was covered under warranty thankfully, it required the entire dash to be removed. From what I know whilst it is rare it is not totally uncommon, so you’ll want to make sure the AC works and is not hissing which (I’m sure you would anyway). I had the 4.8 and drove it from about 70k to a little over 100k and thought it was really robust. Personally I went for non-M-sport for a better ride and tyres which were all the same but the M-Sport body kits and steering wheel sure do look better.

also if you suspension compressors if the airbags gets over used from leaking bags, the compressors are plastic unfortunately

You're lucky, the majority of FedEx stuff here gets handed off to their "partner", NZCouriers

Brakes, tyres, control arm bushes, rear suspension airbags fail at around 100km. If its higher kms then Diesel Particulate Filters can be an issue if they haven't dont get get long hot runs. Stay away from anything 'Blue Performance', the Adblue system is a nightmare when it goes wrong

Have some in Hamilton. Or can have a go at getting your wheel bearing out. Just got a very stubborn wheel bearing out of an M3 trailing arm.

So, don't know if I should start a new thread some where else. But I have been busy trying to improve this old beast. Had a crack.. at the front bumper got the fog lights installed and working. Then it decides ohh I might start playing up, random misfire on idle and low revs blah blah. Read all the internet had to offer checked all mater of things. Cps had perfect ohm reading, maybe ill check the gap. Supposed to be about 1mm but I can even get a .01 feeler gauge in there. Found the issue, corrected gap and shes running like a champ! Happy 😊

Not BMW but I finally got around to properly cleaning the Maserati. The paint looks and feels so much better now and will be a lot easier to clean. The gold flake really shows up now. This is my current process: 1) Wash car 2) Meguiars spray clay using a Repco Eclipse Texture Glide Pro Detailers Claying Block 3) Wash car 4) Autoglym Super Resin Polish 5) Meguiars Ceramic Wax The above takes a bit of time but the effort is actually quite low. The spray clay does almost as good a job as a clay bar but is much easier and both the Autoglym SRP and Meguiars Ceramic apply and remove very easily. I knocked the above out by hand in about 5 hours. It does make me wonder what the "premium" products provide over what I have used. Shitty photos, but you get the picture seeing the gold at the front going to black at the back.

Been a while but still been chipping away at trying to get it to final sand down. Started sanding down the guide coat that was on it 2 weeks ago and found these hidden Christmas presents no one in the house wants to own up to cause it was flat when I left it !! Lucky only a few hours to get that flat, bizzare no one knows how it happened, looks like a chair leg connected or something. A bit of force required to make those dents. Anyway went over the kinks and lines with fresh eyes over the holidays and realised those lines were definitely far from being sharp. Technique has come a long way, amazing to learn that with the wrong technique you'll get no where on a complex contour which this e46 has taken me on crash course for. Learning to spend more time using lighting and shadows to guide the final Sanding Ontop of Long primer runs with guide coats Got a good break of decent weather this week so provided I can sign off on those quarter panels I'll be doing full car sand down and diaaseably for paint this week.

Price is about 8k too high lol Pretty sure the N46 was the most unreliable engine you could get in an E9X chassis too
