Good afternoon all, I just have to tell someone. My new baby has left her home of the last 9+ years and started her journey down to me. I just can't wait. I used to have a 99 728i and I sold her for a 2003 730i E65. Wish I never had. So after 4 1/2 years of the E65, I am going back to the one car I have loved being in and driving. This time a 2001 728i in a lovely Steel Blue. Oh the fun I am going to have. I have already got plans to make her even more beautiful. E38 Beige wood grab handles - ready and waiting C pillar wood 'Porn Lights' - on their way Working on replacing the original 16:9 HU with the Avant4 headunit which will work with the DSP, and yet give me all the modern features, but look like the original. Bring it on baby Thanks for listening to my dribble. I just want her here now..... Rob

Paid a deposit on a 2013 320D M-Sport touring. Eurosurgeon had a look at it today and couldn't find much more than a faulty sensor. Dealer is getting the sensor sorted and all goes well I'll be picking her up on Friday. Now I just need to do a bit of a research on how to convert NBT from JDM to ECE spec and load NZ maps. Radio conversion is easy. A bit of coding to do too to remove all unnecessary warnings, add DRL, folding mirrors and so on. Thank you all for your input.

These ceramic sprays have certainly impressed me. 4 weeks after application on mine, I used the Mother's CMX this time and the car still looks great

The astonishing amount of incompetent sellers on TradeMe. Appalled at the amount of morons, time-wasters, and straight LIARS. Twice in the space of two days I've been in contact with people who claimed that their cars were in perfect working order. Upon receiving the latest invoices from their mechanics they each needed $1500+ spent. Like, it literally says it. You told me it didn't need anything, then you gave me the paperwork to prove yourself wrong. What is wrong with these people?

Posts were removed by Admin as they had not made any contact with the site before posting, which is a direct breach of the site rules. If they cannot be bothered to do that simple task you have to wonder how good they are. Part of the reason we ask for contact before they post is to check them out to determine if they are genuine so members don’t get ripped off. My personal suggestion would be to stick to known and trusted vendors.

I would be very cautious.. looks dodgy to me but..

I would given its an average condition Jap import. Better to get a decent condition NZ new example so you get proper plate trim, RF keys, EU2 emissions etc.

Mine is the Meguiars Ceramic Wax liquid. From the youtube review I watched the spray and rub in application seems to be the best followed closely by the liquid. Spray on and rinse seemed to be a bit of a dud. For the price ~$50 for Meguiars Ceramic and ~$25 for Autoglym SRP I reckon it's pretty darn good.

It's unfortunate that the checkers are painted on as it may not suit everyone's taste, but aside from that it's an absolute weapon and I'd buy it in a heart beat if I won lotto.

Naa unfortantely. It sounds like the rear muffler has been gutted or replaced with something inapproriate (it drones like crazy)

So much arguing over an engine none of you are buying. Typical 3Pedals rubbish, good to see you never change.

Not BMW but I finally got around to properly cleaning the Maserati. The paint looks and feels so much better now and will be a lot easier to clean. The gold flake really shows up now. This is my current process: 1) Wash car 2) Meguiars spray clay using a Repco Eclipse Texture Glide Pro Detailers Claying Block 3) Wash car 4) Autoglym Super Resin Polish 5) Meguiars Ceramic Wax The above takes a bit of time but the effort is actually quite low. The spray clay does almost as good a job as a clay bar but is much easier and both the Autoglym SRP and Meguiars Ceramic apply and remove very easily. I knocked the above out by hand in about 5 hours. It does make me wonder what the "premium" products provide over what I have used. Shitty photos, but you get the picture seeing the gold at the front going to black at the back.

Wouldn't FULL retard mean attaching your still to the side of it?? πŸ˜‰

You can smoke in anything (the Weber Kettles can work well too) but having a little more volume and being well sealed is the main thing (aside from technique and knowing your smoker of course). I've not used them, but you can also get little fans which adapt to an air inlet linked to a thermometer couple so it will control your temp for you by blowing to increase temp whenever it drops below your set point and stopping when it exceeds a set point - good if you want to do an overnight cook or don't want to babysit the fire. I have a very low tech drum but have a fantastic dual (meat and air) probe thermometer with a separate RF receiver which tracks current and high/low temps and find once I get it in its zone I can go to the beach during a cook, come back 3 hours later and temp has only fluctuated 10c. Have not heard of smoking as low as 65c? 105c is generally as low as I go, and keep 6 hour plus cooks in the 105-120c range. My wife doesn't allow thermometer talk anymore haha (I brew as well so I'm always going on about temperature 🀣)

That is 135i money. But you would get a better 135 for that.

I'm sure you know better than that Chris! Too expensive by ~$6k. Manual, smanual... πŸ˜‰ (forgive me for being defensive). But no really notable options, BMWP pedals, Aero spoiler, CD instead of MD (who cares?), no PDC, no sunroof, no cruise (😁), nothing else... and the oil cooler has lost its cover! Shame. And the thing is, at ~90k kms, probably everything underneath and up front needs replacing. I'd say it's a $11.5k (marketed) car that you'd need to be prepared to sell for $10.5k. Edit: you can get a F20 M135i for less than what they're asking for this.

This reminds me of a time when I was cruising along SH1 in auckland and a concrete mixer truck had the flap come loose and started dropping dried up concrete bits all behind him. unlucky for me because I was sandwiched between the truck and a car on both the left and right and took massive hits to the windscreen and front cracking both headlights, windscreen and denting the bonnet. Couldnt even get the rego plate to report his ass cuz the plate was covered in concrete and illegible. surprise surprise..

I LOVE NZ ROADS!! Another windscreen gone. Bigger than a 50c piece. Struck by a large rock on the open road passing through some shitty road works.
