After a week away with the family we're seeing some solid progress ... more cleaning of parts to go back into the rear end. Installed more of the rear now with just the guard liners, shocks, brakes and sensors to go .... YAY.

Not BMW but I finally got around to properly cleaning the Maserati. The paint looks and feels so much better now and will be a lot easier to clean. The gold flake really shows up now. This is my current process: 1) Wash car 2) Meguiars spray clay using a Repco Eclipse Texture Glide Pro Detailers Claying Block 3) Wash car 4) Autoglym Super Resin Polish 5) Meguiars Ceramic Wax The above takes a bit of time but the effort is actually quite low. The spray clay does almost as good a job as a clay bar but is much easier and both the Autoglym SRP and Meguiars Ceramic apply and remove very easily. I knocked the above out by hand in about 5 hours. It does make me wonder what the "premium" products provide over what I have used. Shitty photos, but you get the picture seeing the gold at the front going to black at the back.

Yeah, nothing wrong with a 20 year old BMW... lol.... who is the seller trying to fool ? Some common statements in car ads and what I think they translate to. "gOeZ hArd 4 wAT it iZ" (Not only is it a basket case, it's a thrashed basket case) "timing chain, no cambelt" (Engine is lucky to have had an oil change in the last 20,000kms) "new tyres" (Yep new tyres from China... are they even made of rubber) ? "cheap on gas" (runs it on 91 when it should be 95 minimum)

+1 on Mag Monster. I've been through a bottle and a half on my wheels which were a previous owners track wheels, so baked on brake dust everywhere, and they're almost silver again. Normal wheel cleaner didnt touch it. If it dries it says to wet it with more MM before washing off, but i'd do it in the shade to be safe. From To

Posts were removed by Admin as they had not made any contact with the site before posting, which is a direct breach of the site rules. If they cannot be bothered to do that simple task you have to wonder how good they are. Part of the reason we ask for contact before they post is to check them out to determine if they are genuine so members don’t get ripped off. My personal suggestion would be to stick to known and trusted vendors.

Hi everyone. I have been trying to fix the lights on my wife's 1998 E39 540i for a while now without any success. They were working fine, then one day they started flashing intermittently and doing other things as well. Indicators stopped working, and drive lights come on when I start the car. None of the switches (light, indicators) affect this situation. I pulled the LCM 2 out and sent it to get checked out at 'Anything Electronic' and they found nothing unusual with the LCM 2. I placed the LCM 2 back into the car, and the lights worked for a month, and then the problem returned. I live 60 km from the nearest big town, so I have tried to find and fix the fault myself. I don't like to drive the car while it is like this. Today I am going to check the breakout box under the driver seat. All the fuses are good. My thoughts are, the LCM 2 may still be faulty. An alternative is to get another LCM 2 and code it from the one I have currently. If anyone has had a similar issue, I would appreciate some feedback. One other thing, the heater comes on when the car is started. I have read information regarding the LCM 2 affecting other things beside the lights. Anyhow, kind regards.

@M3AN maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but it’s not too onerous at all, I’ll time myself on Sunday 🤣

Installed my coilovers today. Decided to go with the Solo Werks S1 coilovers. They had many good reviews, basically labeled the best of the cheap "entry-level" coilovers so decided to give them a shot. I was quite happy when I received them, they included lubricant for the threads and an instruction manual was that specifically for the e36. For $500usd coilovers I though that was a nice touch. While there I also installed new top mounts and installed the reinforcement plates front and rear. Here is how it sits after a quick 10 minute drive. I've got a track day next weekend at Pukekohe so going to be driving it a bit until then to make sure everything is good. Will report back on how the coilovers feel.

Ive played with some of the expensive/exotic stuff.... $200 a jar wax nonsense... and honestly... save your money The low/mid range stuff is as good. Some of the Turtle wax cheap stuff is properly legit too, their spray ceramic wax stuff beads for ageeees and look good on ya average daily. The meguiars spray on hose off thing works ok on white cars, but leaves weird streaks on black cars. Cleaned the 130 in the weekend, and tried the turtle wax ceramic spray for black cars, and other than having to do 2 coats as it doesn't want to go on very evenly.. its properly gleaming at the moment. If paste wax's (in this case they perform like legit Si02 stuff) are your thing, the Soft99 King of Gloss and Fusso coat are realllly legit, and not expensive (there is an NZ supplier now). All the soft99 stuff is legit - https://www.oakey.co.nz/car-waxes-ceramic-coats . Ill put Fusso back on the cars for winter.

Dude that's awesome. And it's on-trend, being electric! I saw that Weber have released their electric BBQ range recently.

The astonishing amount of incompetent sellers on TradeMe. Appalled at the amount of morons, time-wasters, and straight LIARS. Twice in the space of two days I've been in contact with people who claimed that their cars were in perfect working order. Upon receiving the latest invoices from their mechanics they each needed $1500+ spent. Like, it literally says it. You told me it didn't need anything, then you gave me the paperwork to prove yourself wrong. What is wrong with these people?

I would say given the e30 market anywhere between 10-15 k being a convertible and I assume it's a facelift being a 91? even if it is a 318i the right buyer will pay the right amount of money for it. Some pics would help brudda

These ceramic sprays have certainly impressed me. 4 weeks after application on mine, I used the Mother's CMX this time and the car still looks great

I just gather a whole heap of old crap from work to chuck on my ride on. It will now provide live data and map my mow pattern. Using my race cars old 10hz GPS for accurate location. Talk about waste of time. But I bet if I live streamed me mowing the lawn on twitch people would watch.

Since I live my life a quarter mile at a time I decided to upgrade my neons. This new setup uses led strips with 60 leds per meter, as opposed to my old setup which used 30 leds per meter (now twice as bright so twice the street cred). The led strips are addressable meaning you make make then do all kinds of stuff not even seen in the new Need for Speed. I put together the whole thing custom including the wiring harness (and no, I won't sell you one because I don't want anyone stealing my thunder (or should I say lightening) at a car meet). The end result is this: NFS-final.mp4 Also a final shot showing off the interior lights as well which are hooked up to turn on when the doors open.

I LOVE NZ ROADS!! Another windscreen gone. Bigger than a 50c piece. Struck by a large rock on the open road passing through some shitty road works.
