As some of you may recall, I spent a good amount of time deciding on my ideal car back in 2017. After advice from some members here, and a lot of test drives of different makes and models, I decided on an NZ new 2003 330i M Sport sedan. What a car. It was my first BMW, and it was a lot of car for a little money. Quite different from the Starion, Galant, and Diamante I had owned before. Fast forward about 8 months, and she's sitting outside parked on the street, nothing doing. The punishment? Getting totaled by some genius speeding through a tight windy road at midnight, while drunk: 😭 That's a two car park, and it was in the back space with the handbrake fully engaged... look how far it ended up from position one. Weitz Industries ended up parting it out. After that I wasn't active on the forums for a while, starting different jobs, doing some travelling, family stuff, etc... A few years on and I'm in need of a car again. After a lot of time-wasters, morons, and liars tried to sell me their vehicles, I was getting royally pissed off! 🤬 Anyway, long story short, I found my second BMW. The handsome twin of my earlier chariot; another NZ new, 330i M Sport sedan. The first two hours of my trip home, I put it to the test on those long winding roads between Hamilton and Turangi. She didn't disappoint. The silky smooth inline six delivered when asked, and took to the corners beautifully. After that it was starting to get late and tiredness was starting to settle in, so I took it relatively easy for the remaining four hour drive. Overtaking was never a problem, and cruising at 100kph is incredibly comfortable for a sports sedan. I could ramble on, but I think most of you are familiar with what great cars they are. It does need a few things, but that's part of the fun right? Yeeaaah... it was a good day.

Hey guys, I've looked everywhere but couldn't seem to find one and the cost for a new one is just.. atrocious. if anyone has one please shoot me a pm! also, will pre facelift ones fit? I've read somewhere that they do fit, just need to change the bumper clips.

no rubbing.. its the best offsets /size you could use on stock suspension & without rolling /flaring guards etc. the genuine style 71s don't fill the wheel arch that particularly well and these have a nice lip look too.. Never seen another set like them.. found on trademe mis-stated sizes but I took a punt.. lucked out cause they were cheap as chips too! - sometimes you get a win.!

Don't think ive ever read such cringe and false statements in a BMW ad. Hard to tell whether its just marketing spiel or he's just your typical clueless N42\N46 owner driving around a time bomb.

I was able to help myself with Mindfulness. At first it sounded like a load of bollocks (was stressed and impatient). But I gave it a chance as nothing else was helping. I was surprised to find It really helped me manage my stress and anxiety. It actually helped me with remembering more detail about my stressful situations too. That helped me with not becoming overwhelmed by thinking too much when I didn't have all the facts and was replacing them with my own theories. My crap sleeping pattern changed when I wasn't stuck thinking about all the what if's that I had no to little control over at 1am in the morning. This might not be the best site. But it does have some info. https://www.mindful.org/meditation/mindfulness-getting-started/

Well said, Jo. After working in the UK for a few years, I learned that NZ - particularly in tech - under-invested in management training. Thrust into senior roles without the requisite skills, and lacking the development to be successful. NZ continues to promote people good at their job to lead, rather than talent-spotting leadership and developing it. In comparison, in UK I found genuinely talented managers! Dirty secret: some of NZs largest companies continue with large PG budgets, as they recognise it's cheaper to defend or settle than to train. The counselling is very useful; sleep is essential so don't be afraid of resetting the sleep cycle with the aid of your GP. Exercise to help the body and mind. And some excellent legal advice to set your mind at ease with a solid understanding of what is unlikely and how to control your situation. Then you can make a plan. Put it all together - functional trajectory back to a new normal. Jo is right - it's not the end of the world. Once you're into the planning to find a new environment, flip through 'what colour is your parachute' again. The support of friends amidst all of this is very important. HTH

Counselling and medication are two things that really helped me. I was very anti medication but once I gave it a go it changed my life.

Graham, talking to a counsellor; who knows what they're doing; just listens and asks questions that are relevant, with no agenda of their own: is a really amazing thing. If you have an Employee Assistance Program at work, or can access it somehow, DO IT! Privately, it costs $85 a session up here.

One wonders how it works on a commercial level. eg, where a franchisee might have franchise license withdrawn, or be directed to sell; and a proven operator is subsequently installed? Not suggesting this has happened in this case. Or if a franchisee wants to step out, one expects that BMW NZ would have a large say in who takes it on. Continental are part of the Symes Group, they're large and effective. The Continental BMW team on the shore are excellent to deal with, we're hoping that things improve in Wellington.
