I am an old fart, and drive/treat my cars like babies if truth be known. The treatment given to this m5 in that video (assuming it's the same car, and I think it is) is just simply disrespectful. As a result, I wouldn't touch it with a 10' bargepole. I MAY be out of touch. But I suspect not, and if I am representative of my era/generation then there goes 75% of the potential market for that car.

Bmw has the Guinness world record for the longest drift in one of these so they are certainly built for this type of abuse. Every promotional video for any M car has them drifting etc. AMG has drift mode, there's not a top gear episode where someone isn't drifting something, they are built for this type of thing. I think it was on here that someone once wrote e30s are like girlfriends. You know your not the first but it's not nice seeing someone else giving her a thrashing

A real space cadet. He's too busy to type but not to busy to field phone calls though, probably wont be receiving many at that price so i suppose it works.

I know it is a free world and people are entitled to pretty much do what they like. But I find it rather disappointing that a couple of poseurs cannot do anything more interesting with an expensive car than do skids 🙄 Yes, I know that it is all in the name of getting internet points so that there is enough cash coming in to afford the next expensive car to thrash and keep the cycle going. Only these cars are good for other stuff... like driving nice scenic roads, turning fast laps or showing some actual driving skills. Personally I find the current preoccupation with doing smokey donuts rather juvenile (regardless of the driver's age). I like to think that it is just another of those fads like rubrics cube or fidget spinners that serves no useful purpose, and will eventually fade away. Cheers...

Hey all, just an update for any interested parties. I emailed ZF in Australia and the told me all 6HP19 internals are the same, EXCEPT if it comes out of a 4WD(AWD). I purchased a ZF6HP19 from an E90 (N46 engine), stripped the internals and put it into my ZF6HP19 case. (E60 with M54 engine). Changed the mechatronics block and pipe seals and reassembled. It went fine, no dramas and very smooth. Happy days. Hope this helps someone.

You guys all make it sound all pretty easy to do the smg >>> 6sp manual swap in an m3. Not to disparage at all, and no doubt we are talking a good job,,,,,,,,,but if it's all that easy, why do the pros want almost $5k to do the swap????

Finally completed my little benchtop power supply project !! Will be using this to power the spare gauge cluster I'm using for Arduino development. Its based on a spare ATX PC power supply I had ... a pretty useful up-cycling project !!

The Akrapovic exhaust doesn't bother me but the air suspension and ugly ass wheels can FRO. Also M5's are meant to be driven but hard pass on one treated like that

Well, it goes like this... I don't wear a watch as my life is not measured in minutes. And I don't carry a phone as I am not available for random calls 24/7. I don't need a GPS as I know where I am going and I am not a cripple, so I can get out of my car, pump my own gas and walk into the store to pay for it at the counter. Three hundred years ago humans trained animals to perform tricks for entertainment and make a little money. These days technology corporates train humans to perform tricks for entertainment and make a huge profits. Outside of that nothing much has changed in the world for centuries, so perhaps we really haven't left the stone age yet ? Cheers... PS: And I don't need a remote for my car stereo

No they don't. BMW NZ directed all dealers to replace the complete EGR module which includes the EGR valve and cooler.
