Hi All, just wanted to let everyone curious or posted here that the car was found, in Torbay of all places. Police has done their forensics and suggests a “deep clean??!” not knowing who’s been in the car. I haven’t been able to see it and won’t be able to see it till insurance is confident car is what it was before claim. from what I can see from photos was mostly bumper damage and I’ve been told only the battery is missing, not sure about engine etc, but Car is heading to BM Workshop for diagnosis and then German Kollisons for panel and paint. thanks for the discussion everyone. One of the biggest scams around was meth testing and percieved fear that went with it! Hundreds of homes, relined, internal walls, gib etc! Residual cigarette smoke was tested more toxic, sitting in peak hour traffic is worse! Great news you have your car back, put the energy into the diagnostic health of engine and running gear.

It was the Police that located it. Might have been public rang it in to the Police. Plates were removed and replaced with something else.

So, was it the Police that located it or someone else? Was it just abandoned in a street somewhere? Glad to hear you're getting it back.

It’s a true one old lady owner from new. Had just over 100,000 kms during this photo last year. Always garaged and Mazda serviced . 😀

(as above) It's not a "legal limit" I believe it's a limit set by the "industry" as a "standard" and having just been through all this drama with a rental home - it is all a complete load of smelly BS. The "industry" use 1.5 ug/100cm2, the guvmints own chief science dude has said that anything below 15 (10 times higher) ug/100cm2 is safe to occupy (for their state houses)... Millions of $$ and a sh%t ton of heartache has washed behind all this... Anyway - great to get the M3 back...

Could be great news that it’s been found, fingers crossed for you that there is minimal damage, and it’s covered by insurance. Sucks that no car insurance wants to cover consequential losses for all the stuffing around you have to do to get things sorted. Any word on how they managed to take it? Anything from the CCTV?

Went to the Porsche racing at Taupo yesterday and lost count of all the road and track GT3’s on show plus lots of other gorgeousness including GT4S, Gallardo even a Alpine A110.

Hi Team Long time no post, just been a bit slack with the updates but still trucking along with the projects. So bit of a big change in plans with the oil pump. When i bolted the X5 pump for a test fit the pick up was going to be way to low and clearance was going to be a massive issue. So back to plan A which is to use the n62 pump which im pretty much 80% through. Lucky for me the headers just needed one runner slightly hammered in. The sump itself had to be machined 3-4mm Bolt hole had to be slotted 5mm inwards to line up the hole. Found that 4 connecting rod bolts were fouling on the oil pump. got the angle grinder out and took off about 2mm of material. Exhaust painted Rolled the guards to fit the 18x8.5 square set hamann wheels Really can wait to get this car going. Thanks Team

Hi team Long time no post, Just been a bit slack on the updates but still trucking along with the projects. so the wagon is fully driving now, had a few hick ups but 3rd time lucky with the exhaust, getting the right tyre size and 5th gear detent to shift properly but all sorted now. Also finished making a little catch can and swapped out the steering wheel for a smaller e36 one. Now its fully tucked up and doesnt scrap the ground custom hamann 3 piece wheels 18x.8.5 fronts and 18x9.5 rears Thanks team

There was a black e46 m3 in Wellington with one years ago. Never saw it towing though or a bike rack. Mind you. Have a two bar on the wife’s suv. The back bumper is almost the only panel that doesn’t have parking dings from other peoples inability to park. However, for the sake of a picture mums 1987 mazda 323i had a tow bar and did tow a trailer on the dump run every now and then. Also saved the back many times going off the marks on the towbar from the parking warriors.

Spotted an E21 in the wild, spoke to the owner who had it since new and its done half a million ks and a phoenix yellow m3!

There's an E30 316i on TM at the moment proudly sporting a tow bar. Probably pretty handy if the dog has a greasy stick stuck somewhere.
