    Interior retrim almost done - I went to do an inspection this AM (first time I’ve seen the progress in person) and it looked great. Still a few days away but together enough to get a good idea on how it will look. Very happy I went with OEM fabric and bolster fabric as it has a beautiful almost wooly nap to it that looks so good. In the flesh the seats are quite dark and the pattern more subtle so am leaning towards putting the Mtechnic badges on the fronts now - I don’t think it will be too busy / gaudy.

    Ive driven both in stock form and i agree about the power difference, don't think anyone is arguing on that front. Guessing the raving come from the fact that the 130i has a much lower initial cost, cheaper to run, last N\A six, not fast but not exactly struggling to perform in typical road usage. Yeah going to be exceptions but generally the N\A version of a engine is going to be cheaper to run and maintain over time given the same condition.

    How old is the vehicle? Unless the dealers are owned by the same company then each dealer can't view other dealers records so youd have to contact each dealer. If you were the owner at the time this wont be an issue. It will also depend on what management system the dealer uses as some systems can give a brief overview of everything they have done without customer info.     Have you seen the state of NZ roads? If its a track car, year for sure a 135 is going to be wicked faster in a straight line, however in the real world ya just cant use a million BHP on the road without ending up in a ditch. 99% of the time you'll never be able to use the power, but your still paying the maintenance etc etc.... I totally get it, 135i's are cool (1Ms are way cooler though...) but we live in the real world. I drive my 130 pretty hard, down some of NZs maddest B roads, and the smiles it generates as you slot through the gears, being able to use the power it has... hard to beat for the price (for any brand of vehicle - a rear wheel drive hatchback with a manual gearbox option and arguably one of the best NA 6 cylinders ever made - There aren't many competitors). Also, I like driving my car rather than having penis size competitions on dyno numbers.

    That was a 'lovely' interior 🤣 - seen worse while working for a motor vehicle dealer - whom i shall not mention - some of the repos we got back were threes as bad as the 130i - and yours truly had the wonderous task of cleaning them 😝

    No and its tacky AF. 28K, "no known bodywork damage" and this is the front alignment. I also hate the painted rear black moulding since it doesnt match the rest \ Its a nice car, but im seeing a few things that would concern me, and a few things that indicate to me that the previous owner wasnt too fastidious about its condition.

    I cant help on the specific you asked for, but be aware that a lot of dealers will not provide service history from previous owners due to privacy concerns.

    Treated the family E91 to oil / filter / air filter / microfilters and reset all the service info - with big thanks to Jon @Spinner99! (Just need to replace angel eye bulb then 'Check Control OK' 😍)

    I honestly don't see a problem with it. What other means is that bmw can now sell a 3 series for say $40k (prob not but just a random figure) with no features meaning you open up the market to more buyers. They then add features they see applicable to themselves. There are so many people out there who tell me daily, I don't use/care/want any of this stuff and just want to drive

    Yes, secondary market (used) vehicles present an interesting set of scenarios, if you sell a car with heated seats, does it actually come with heated seats, etc. But my IT manager had an interesting take in this today when I shared it with him (other than rolling his eyes). In most cases it's different to a (for example) software subscription (which is becoming the norm). With most software subscriptions you have nothing before you subscribe, you're not carrying any load. With this ridiculous car features subscription, in most cases, you've already paid for it, it's just not activated. If I subscribe to heated seats for a month it's not that a technician comes out to install the heating elements when I subscribe, and returns to remove them when my subscription lapses. So, if I pay for the equipment up front, and I'm paying gas to haul the equipment around, why aren't I entitled to use that equipment? And if I don't intend to pay extra to use that equipment, why did I have to pay for it up front, and why do I have to pay to carry it around? Surely, if the manufacturer feels entitled to charge me to use it, I should be entitled to have them remove the dead weight I can't use. It's moronic in the extreme but, once they all do it it will become the norm, and incremental deception will have won again. It's anti-consumer and BMW should be ashamed for being a part of it.

    Probably goes out the window when you compare repair bills too. Personally i don't see one being better than the other as they both meet different requirements.

    I know of a fairly scungy and dereg manual 325i sedan that sold for 2k locally a few weeks ago. Therefore I will now be offering every e30 owner 5k for their garbage.

    Had mine a year, no regrets. Mines a one trick pony roll race machine, but it's fun taking it to track events and beating cars down the straight that cost 10x more. An example, this one's probably only worth 5x more though.
