  1. sides are easy as is the rear. You just pull the corner up on the inside of the car and slowly work the rubber away. Get someone on the out side of the car to catch the window in case it falls. Gently push the glass outward from the inside as you ease the rubber. This works for back and side. The front one is done the same but as it is laminated glass you run the risk of it breaking. Especially if there are stone chips in it. It doesn't matter how careful you are it will breal. Get a glass person to remove the front but the rest are simple. Putting back in involves using some string and pulling the window rubber back into place from the inside.

  2. Has anybody got a complete wiring diagram for e36's. I need one so I can strip out only the wiring I require for the race car. Need to be the complete wiring including engine and chassis.

Hopefully one of you lot has it electronically.

  3. I said SHOTGUN on a new Z roadster down at Shelly BMW in Wellington the other day. Bastards sold it on me though. As far as I know, SHOTGUN doesn't give anyone the right to have something first. SHOTGUN also isn't any form of payment so why should I be angry at them selling it??

I will order the Plate SHTGUN and then everything will be mine or at least I will have first right of purchase.

Have you been stalking my old's place. That is exactly what is happening in the garage as we speak. 94 M3 Left hook. 3L and all the balls tingling bits.

We could maybe front as a team once it's finished. You now I'm a starter for Manfield enduro for sure. Well next seasons one anyway.

  5. Conrad, what sort of gains with locked vanos, c/f airbox and alpha N?

Locking the vanos is only good for race cars with close boxes, you are only driving in the upper reigon of the motors rev range so the vanos would be in full time anyway. Also a handy trick to stop your vanos form locking up during fast down shifts and causing a nightmare to free. I would expect the motor to be flatter down low and there would be no HP gain with it locked. There is also a set degree that you should lock the cams in at.

  6. Time to start thinking about selling the trusty E30.

    Basic Spec's

    84 E30 320 Coupe - White

87 325 manual motor with Close Ratio 5 speed. 2" custon primary pipes into twin in/out muffler into 2.5" rear pipe with DTM tips.

Bilstein shocks all round with Jamax Super Low springs. 17" mags. 325i Sway Bars, Rear Camber/toe adjustable with SuperPro bushes.

Disk break rear end (non LSD)

Dark carpets with Black Cloth door cards. Custom Black fabric headlining (same material as Racetech Race seats) EVO3 Recaro front seats. Tints.

Eclipse MP3 Head Unit, Sony 2 channel amp, JBL split front speakers.

Good strong car, lots of fun.

    Serious offers over $4250 considered.

Is just as easy to do it this way:

    Stocks

    103 Gasson St

    Sydenham

    CHRISTCHURCH

    AutoParts & Tyre Repair Sales

    Telephone 64-3-366 2500

FreePhone 0800-678 625 (South Island Only)

Tell them you are building an E30 class car and you should get the same discount.

  8. I had the same low power problems with my 320i. Either chuck a m20 2.5ltr in it or put a 2.5ltr m50 engine and 5spd. It's the only way your gonna get any sorta performance out of it and even then you'll have to turbo it to keep up with evo's and sti's etc

But a stabdard 2.5 M20 with a close ratio box can out sprint a 05 297kw SS Comodore to Mid range 3rd gear as I found out yesterday. Was funny seeing the guys jaw drop.
