  1. Hi all, I am after a 318 manual driveshaft for a 318IS Msport, anyone have one they want to sell? Also, another question is can you use a TI driveshaft, as long as it's for a M44 motor, with a G220 box? Thanks in advance.
  2. Lovely bit of kit, who wouldn't want it?
  3. Funny eh, I get all my cars (two BMWs and my old Honda Accord wagon) serviced at R&D exclusively and the guys are awesome. In fact so awesome that I’ll get my new daily Mazda 6 serviced there as well, seeing as Mazda was so useless when I asked them a basic question. However like all these situations, I bet there will be people that rave about Dunedin Mazda service …🤷‍♂️
  4. The chassis stiffness of coupes vs sedans has been covered in previous posts on bimmersport, and the pic relates to e46 specifically, but no doubt the general principle translates to other models as well. Yes, ultimately rules dictated what was chosen (Tho Listerine team campaigned Coupes for a season in BTCC) , but my understanding is that sedans are still considered to be more rigid than coupes in general, especially when it comes to racing, with a recognition that there is slight weight disadvantage.
  5. As well as the weird colours and body kits, the MSports also get MSport suspension package, which the base car doesn’t get, which in theory should improve handling over the base car. It’s also my understanding that the race teams like Schnitzer chose the e36 sedans to race in BTCC and DTC for super touring racing because they offered better structural integrity over the coupes.
  6. https://www.trademe.co.nz/3434141509 And if you want a Fiji Green one, although it is auto, but low kms!
  7. It’s kind of interesting as I paid slightly less for mine two years ago, and the gear knob was falling apart (consistent with mileage), there was some rust spots to fix up, some paint to do, the seat bolster had a hole, and the odd mechanical thing needed sorted (but that’s old cars!) So when I look at this, the stickers will come off, the rest should tidy up, and although it is a niche market (granted), it’s one of only 48 cars that came into the country, and the values are only going North with the cheapest car being offered for $12k (admittedly it was Dakar Yellow). Yes it would be a project to make mint again, but the usual, try finding another one rules apply in my opinion. I reckon it’s priced about right (of course it would be better if it was $6500!) But heh I like mine, and I might be slightly biased😊
  8. This seems like a bargain: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3428903853 Great buying at that price

Funny I have also emailed and tried to ring, but no luck, you’d think you’d want to talk to people who wanted to buy your car🙄🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
  10. Just goes to show eh, a lot of people thought that this was over priced at $15K, but it shows the usual rarity, plus low kms, and tidy vehicle equals valuable car! Also shows that whomever bought it, really wanted it and will be super stoked to have one of only 40 cars left in the country. I’d say there’s someone out there with the biggest smile on their dial, just like the one I have when I drive mine😊!
  11. I think one of the key things to remember here is this is one of only 40 cars so originality is key. I bought mine as a stepping stone into classic car ownership, and to be honest coz I liked the colour. It’s not a powerhouse, but it’s a pretty balanced drive, and it hassled quite a few bigger cars in the twistes on the drive back to Dunedin. Owning it lead to the purchase of an e30 325i sedan, also a manual. The two are chalk and cheese, the 325i has an awesome motor that just makes you want to press the loud pedal, but the MSport also makes me smile every time I drive it for different reasons. A lot of people dis the M44 motors as gutless, but I get just as big a grin from driving the MSport as I do from the 325i.
  12. A really good example with pretty low kms, whomever gets it will be totally stoked, will be a keeper!
  13. No LSD as standard unfortunately, however to be fair, you don’t really need it!😊
  14. That’s about what it cost, I emailed them for shipping cost and they sent me a link to complete purchase that included freight. Very happy with the service and end result.
  15. Glad to help, this was the finished article from the other side.
