  1. Thank you for that. I hadn’t heard about them but will definitely give them a try if I can’t get used items.
  2. Thank you - I’ll give Weitz a try. Hadn’t heard of them before.
  3. Can’t seem to find any V8 springs atm so thought I would ask if 6cyl ones would fit. Just bought a 540i that’s been lowered and it scrapes on my driveway approach so pretty keen to raise it back to standard height
  4. Anyone know if standard height springs from a 6 cylinder E39 will fit a V8?
  5. Hi, I’m looking for a full set of factory springs for my 1998 E39 540i. I’m in Christchurch so would be great if located nearby.
  6. hey david,Ezra here, still keen to come have a look at my 323i for trans and motor?it will be going to euro rec or scrapers soon so let me know,p/m me.cheers :)

  7. Hi Ezra, did the motor and trans survive? What part of Chch are you in for viewing? Cheers, David
  8. Just a follow-up to my New Member post a couple of weeks ago. When I bought my 1983 320i the previous owner said he had not changed the cambelt in the 10 years he had had the car because he had only done 70,000kms in that time. So I got the cambelt/tensioner/waterpump replaced last week and my mechanic and I had a look at the old cambelt. It was hard to tell it from the new one we put in - no stretching or any signs of wear. Mark, my mechanic, told me it was probably because it had not done many k's in that time. Is 10 years a record of some sort for not changing a cambelt (and getting away with it)?
  9. Many thanks for the welcome everyone. I must say I hadn't seen an E30 in this colour either - maybe it was only available in the earlier models? The car has just gone in to get the cambelt and waterpump done so it will be good to do some driving after that. I would be keen to come along to any meets that were being arranged
  10. Hi Mark, many thanks for the welcome. My car is a light green metallic so I am guessing that makes it Platinum Green.
  11. Hi all, I'm David from Christchurch. Last week I bought a light green 1983 320i auto, NZ new. Its done almost 300,000kms It has some of the E30 issues like a worn/torn driver's seat, cracked dash etc which I have read about on this forum in the last week. Its mostly standard apart from a dual outlet rear muffler and a CD player. Overall its quite a nice car and runs well I prefer manuals so will look at getting a conversion done at some stage. Am arranging a cambelt/waterpump replacement asap - the guy I bought it from told me he had not replaced the cambelt in the 10 years he had owned it (but he had only done 70,000kms in that time apparently). Once thats done I am looking forward to driving it - I have had it sitting at home since I bought it until I get the cambelt done. It would be just my luck for the belt to break after all that time! It will be great to have this forum for advice and info. Cheers, David
