Best BMW Workshop In Auckland

Recommended Posts

-1 for Bavarian Motor Works. They started off well but have shagged me around big time recently. Looking for another place now.

-1 for Bellars. When Gavin was running the place it was the best. We used it once under the new owners and wouldn't go back: somehow Ken managed to seriously annoy my wife.

There's another place on Wairau Rd. Anyone know anything about it?

Forgive me for the thread necromancy here. I'm looking to get a pre-inspection purchase done by a good BMW workshop in Auckland. I've read through the discussion here and will be giving BM Workshop a call tomorrow.

However! Since this info is all from 2009, can anyone advise how relevant this info still is? Can anyone else suggest any other places that might have cropped up in the mean time?

Ross at BM Workshop is definitely still all good. Otherwise Glenn is always good.

Slightly off topic but is there a BMW specialist in Hawkes Bay?

I know there are some members down here, where do you guys get your cars serviced?

There is a Jeff Gray. Greg (Greg.) works there

Just reviving this thread, is this still current? Anyone have had experience with German Automotive at North Shore or EuroSurgeon in Penrose? I live in the Northwest and looking a good independent workshop.

I have had good dealings with burgers motor works recently on my M5, 535 and Maserati.

I’m retired now. I would recommend BMWorkshop in Grey Lynn. Probably the closest to you. Or Eurosurgeon, BM Workshop Botany

Name Trevor says it all really.

Again, Burgers Motor Works.

Interested in this thread, will be needing a mechanic for servicing my 130i.

Couple Questions:

Dealers not worth the extra cost?

Am I right that current best options are BM Workshop Grey Lynn or Burgers Motor Works?

I am very happy with Apex Automotive, @BMTHUG is a professional, an enthusiast, and he's on the Shore, on Porana Rd if you are in the area. I travel to him from Flat Bush.

I also vouch for SJ, I try to get our cars to him whenever possible and I am also based in south auckland.

Absolutely worth the drive (twice) to know our car is getting the best service done by a professional.

I can recommend BM Workshop Botany based on recent experiences over the last few weeks. they completed a valve stem seal replacement and a few other bits on my 120i without drama or fuss. They have attention to detail and picked out a number of things on both cars that I hope they would!

Bellars motorworks over on the Shore are also another option if you are that way, had a walnut blast there and a look and chat with them, soild operation.

Dealers are 100% not worth the extra cost, on some things like routine servicing their pricing is comparable to the indy's , but other things they are just having a laugh, water pump replacements, injectors etc. The quotes they will give you will make you wince.

I recently had the exhaust swapped on my M5 at Botany BM Workshop, they did a great job exactly how I asked. I'd also recommend.
