Interesting one, https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/specialist-cars/competition-cars/auction-2532205397.htm

One of the 13 nz new manuals, might be the first?, and a non msport 130... absolute poverty spec (like it was always going to be a racecar?)

It does indeed look like it was ordered in as a stripped out, low spec version intended to be a race car for a South Island customer. Very weird, and pretty cool story.

It is the first NZ manual car built, if you exclude the "pre-pro" that was brought in later on.

Total number I can see is 15 (including the pre-pro) NZ new manuals wonder how many are still on the road? Will have a look at the database when I get chance.

Something freaky is going on, another of the 13 NZ new manuals up for sale - https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2538196754.htm?rsqid=e2d28c7a98a04166b565690687204761-003

Is it just me or is it slightly higher in the back than stock? Maybe just the rock parking.

Stockish? Probably just not flogged :D

Maybe it sat on yard for awhile before being registered in 2007, Its 2005 build, about 25 odd  s/n after mine,  Options list is carbon copy, all the good stuff (bar a sunroof), other than wheels (207 vs 208)

Which is interesting because they're not 208's... 261's maybe?

e87 never came with 261's so someone has put them on,  most likely off a 135i

And gator and pedal covers... calipers have been painted and P-Zero's too. It could have some hidden benefits, might have even been looked after. If I were regional I'd certainly like to check it out. But $13k? Not since about 3 months ago, they've plummeted since then.

Really low ks, nz new, intake worth a crap load if you flicked it on, mine was at 140,000 when I bought it for 13k :D  I hope he gets 13, the market need correcting hahaha

The $6.5k one is crazy... it's not particularity tidy though. CD changer and rear camera a good options if they're factory. Rear suspension looks shot.

The paint's probably better than mine though and Alpine White, sweet. Add some ///M or BMWP pinstripes and that's gold for me.

Looks like both the front chassis rails are damaged, which would most likely cost too much to make a viable repair.

Give me a few years ;)

Do it. Would be a slick E30 setup, probably weigh 30-50kg less than an M50/52/54, and way more balls.

Yeah, motor is sitting there. Have it all planned out, it's just a matter of time.

I want to put one into the e28! Not sure if the N52 and M54 share engine mounts?

Not to sure, but considering the Z4 and Z4 M share the same subframe, and come with N52/S54, and E60 had M54 and N52s, there is probably a bmw engine mount config thats common.

Q&A - not come across this EDL speak before. As far as I know we just have open diffs? Couldn't find much by way of a search.

e-diff, but it was only on lcis (which that isnt), and is sh*t. Just works like traction control by braking spinning wheel, sending torque to the other.

And there's nothing on the build sheet so nothing fitted from "factory" as per the ad.

Edit: but still, tidy, different manual for $8k isn't bad!
