The 130i Thread

Recommended Posts

130i people probably know this but once the cars warm hold it at 3k rpm for 3 mins to get oil circulation up into the lifters. Resolves lifter tick from too many short runs, or car sitting around.

If it's still going then you've got a more serious problem.

Mine hasn't ticked for months since I started using it daily. It's still a tapety sounding engine in general though, if you know what I mean.

Had to do this quite often when I was driving the 1km to the train station last year.

Tap Tap = Lifter

Tick Tick = Injector

Knock Knock = Who's there?  Mr Big End Bearing.

Went and looked at it 3 days ago

needs a front rail put Into it as it has started to corrugate itself up by the subframe so needs a complete rail put into it.

really only a parts car as even though it’s registered, pitting a rail Into it is a huge job!

If it wasn’t in South Island I would have jumped on it, but then I suspect so would quite a few others on here!

Not a 130 (anyone else think of old Fiat's when they see that?) but we missed a 120d that sold for under $3k.

Wrong island, again.

600k's in 18 months before being issued its first plate and then being written off two weeks later by the insurer? Alarm bells are ringing Willie.

Looks like the ACS1 spoiler, or a aliexpress ripoff

Something about that car looks weird; between the rear wheel placement (wrong offset?), exhaust tips and double spaced '1 3 0 i' badge it looks, well... odd. Or maybe it is just me.

Yeah something looks whacky, exhausts definitely bent, and the badge being stuck back on suggests rear end respray... has it got the wrong profile tyres or something on it, I agree... looks off.

This. And the Ali version is properly priced, unlike the ACS one!

Look at from all angles before hitting go though, I'm not sure it looks good from some angles... a bit shopping trolley.

Having just put 208's on mine, I can certainly say that one ^ has spacers... looks grand.

Can't put my finger on it, but the stance looks all wrong imho

Rear too high

The white one or the blue (TM) one? White one looks fine to me, likely can't be lower without rubbing.

White one is here

It's an overpriced auto pre-fl, I just want the wing. Edit: c/f rear is nice though.
