E46 330ci Manual

Recommended Posts

Little baby update - a couple of interior finishing (is there such a thing?) touches:

Got some Alcantara boots made for the shifter and handbrake handle with custom stitching to match the Caramel seats, along with a black alloy handbrake handle to match the shifter and piano black trim.

Fitted new Lemforder Tierod's last weekend and got a fresh Alignment at RaceAlign on Monday.

With Suspension now pretty sorted, decided to put in some 98, inflate the side bolsters up and give her a good, sustained spanking.

Went for a blast out to the Manakau Heads Lighthouse which (after the hideous Southern Motorway traffic) was fantastic - brilliant views, no traffic and some pretty fun (if a little sketchy) roads.

Car was great - really happy with it - didn't miss a beat, flat and direct, but compliant, heaps of feedback and with the 3.38 diff, plenty of power for me on these types of roads.

A bit much tramlining for my liking, but a lot of that would have been the nature of the crappy roads.

Only bummer was the speeding ticket and 20 demerits doing 98 in what I had assumed was a 100kph zone in Drury. Oh well, could have been worse 😜

Stunning Sunday for a drive so waxed the car and drove to Maraetai > Clevedon > Kawakawa Bay > Kaiaua and back to Kingsland.

First time doing this drive, very scenic and not too much traffic.

Anyway, more photo spam as per:

Haha I actually am a bit 😀

But actually bought some but didn't like them (were aftermarket so maybe not as nice as OEM?) so happy with the LCI inners for now.

Car is back from the panel beaters after a minor mishap with a parking kerb -last month - decided to take advantage of my low excess to get it perfect - new OEM bumper colour matched and new undertray 👌🏽

Pretty much everything in this photo except the windscreen has now been repainted / replaced for anal cosmetic reasons 🤣

What bleaching kit did you use for your spiderbutton @Sammo

Theres no need to pay through the nose - a little Janola mixed with aloe and a dab a day

Wife is out of town so went for a 'blast' out to Piha today - typically, got stuck behind a line of soft roaders and people movers heading out but got space to stretch the legs on the way back.

The wife has been borrowing the E46 the past 2-3 weeks driving through a construction site daily while her Audi gets fixed so its been uncharacteristically dirty lately.

With the amazing weather, was high time to give her a good going over, also fixed a door speaker and sorted a little handbrake issue.

Stopped for an impromptu snap en-route to the Supermarket - its been a while.

Just doing a few minors on it now (RTABs / Alignment / Oil) as will be selling it on once I find an overpriced E30 for the next project 😢

I think she knows, was an absolute pleasure burbling around, turning heads in the sunshine, making me doubt myself...

Sadly only have one off street park otherwise would definitely hang on to it.

Although I don’t do enough kms anyway to justify three cars anyway, especially WFH / Covid times…

Owning both an E30 and a 330 (albeit touring) I think the same thing!

Back from Apex Automotive getting RTABs in (Meyle HD) and steering column change (was making a grinding noise when turning which turned out to be a busted bearing in the column).

Car feels great - cheers @BMTHUG for the hard work and the pic

Not sure what it is about your car, it always looks great ... maybe I'm just not used to looking at cars that are kept clean and shiny :P

anytime bro. Your car is without a doubt the most beautiful e46 330ci I have ever had the pleasure of working on. Glad we got that grinding noise sorted. I live my e46 dreams vicariously through you now haha
