E28 520i prices?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have been offered to make an offer on an old e28. I have not viewed the car yet (hopefully will be seeing it next week) so I'm not sure what to expect. Putting a price on it is the bit I'm struggling with. There is only 1 535 on trade me for 14k. Any chance I could get your opinions on price for a below average condition, an average condition and an excellent condition. Keeping in mind it is only a 520.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

i reckon 4 to -5 k sounds about right. the 525es seem to sell for around the 7 to 8 k mark.

@Nzrooney Matt, why not an e24 instead?  NZ New 635CSi, last owner Oct 1987 to December 2019, ~195k kms.  10 years in a shed, recommissioned this year.  It's a great drive, and is on genuine BBS 17" alloys.

I've never considered it to be honest. Sounds like a nice ride. What would this set me back?

FWIW I paid $4k for a one owner E28 last year. Original wheels (and tyre in the boot!), seats, suspension etc. Spent.. at least that replacing everything since.

Slightly off topic but those E34/E39 M5's are awesome! Especially the E34 Touring's!
