It's an '85 323i according to trademe and carjam but has the facelift body (taillights and bumpers) and doesn't match the original colour at all. It says it has been resprayed but can't imagine they'd put in so much work to redo the engine bay and inside the doors to me. Comes off mildly fishy to me...

There is mention of a body kit, maybe required FL bumpers?

It's got pre facelift front and rear metal valances. More likely a tail light panel swap.

Its a shame you cant see, but the biggest give away would be if it has a sunroof, i guess. Hard to swap that.

I actually really like the look of that car.

Not such a fan of the dark wheels but its a purposeful looking car - looks pretty clean interior wise as well.

Definitely has all the signs of being a 85 car like no side indicators and the old engine to body loom adaptor etc but when you look at the rear guards and lights, they are Facelift.

Looks like a FL shell has had near everything swapped in to it from the 85 car. Or they really have put the lower rear PFL guards and lights section on to the old car which seems unlikely.

Id easily be able to tell what's up if i had the car in front of me.
