Ideas for getting brake dust bits out of wheel paint

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can get these bits of brake out of the paint on my wheels? This isn't just brake dust, it's small chunks that seem to have cooked themselves onto/into the paint during the track day. I've already washed the wheels and tried picking them out and using a plastic card but it started scratching the paint.

Does any one have any ideas or is this just the collateral damage of racing?

If your using race pads, the dust turns rock hard if it gets wet/damp.

"Moto muck" and a  number of application's and patience.

The pads were just standard ones and those bits were hard on there before I washed them. I will give those two products a shot and see how it goes. Thanks

Mag Monster and a scrubbing pad is the only thing that has touched my baked on brake dust, but it will dull the paint on the wheels because of the scrubbing. Maybe see if any groomers near you use a wheel acid and try that?
