Turns out you can find a car with bearings and vanos done for well under 30k.

Maybe I was a little too subtle.

I pick up an E60 M5 this weekend having receipts for the main items and a decent PPI report leaving me with a chunk of change to bring it up to my standard, fuel and emergencies.

Thought they were convincing you into a boxter for a moment there.

Enjoy.  I wish I had purchased @GorGasm's one after driving it.

Nice, now you have $20k for yet another toy!!

Bringing it up to standard can be chalked up to 'maintenance' based on man-math.

Pop a 9xx Ducati in the garage with the leftover change.

I have a sneaking suspicion desmo belts were made at the same factory the S85 bearings were (I'm still furious at myself for not hitting buy now on the last Monster s4rs Tricolore that was on TM however).

Hmm, and I wish on the bearing front. Change cambelts at 10,000 km intervals.
Running RS cams which isn’t valve  train friendly. But is still making power to 12k rpm 😀
