What is considered to be the max allowable variations between flow numbers? And what do these flow brand new?

Correct, going to have them sandblasted and heated. Then powder coated. No chemical cleaning as that tends to wreck them.

Yeah getting the oil out of the casting seems to be the fun part I've read.

Is what it is. No expense spared for my 540i.

I've found if you can get a pot large enough to sit an end in, and put that on the boil, and add washing powder will do a great job.

Something happened when I started with the front shocks..... a toothbrush came out to clean them, then came the realisation I need to clean everything with a tooth brush and replace just about everything of a perishable nature.

I'm probably going overboard, but I think it's a nice change to do a really fastidious project. The only BMW I wanted was an E34 540i so it all makes sense to go for it and do it to the best I can.
