N52 oil filter - 2 types listed

Recommended Posts

Hi

So supercheap have 2 listings for a Ryco oil filter for my e61 N52. one's half the price of the other. I've done an oil change before but cant for the life of me remember which one i used then. I've got a plastic cap into an alloy housing so does that mean i need the one that says suits metal housing?

R2592P

Not sure where 2592P comes from, suspect that's an M52/M54 part number not N52.

Catalog only references R2673, BMW part 11427566327 for N52.

It also pays to order a few from ECS or TMS or somewhere.  Much cheaper.

Dont even bother with Ripco tbh and get one from the local dealer or BMW parts supplier. Any Ripco sells specially Euro stuff is heavily marked up for retail and even with trade discounts can be more expensive than a OE product.

Totally agree with Eagle. Repco and Supercheap are an absolute ripoff. Far cheaper to by a genuine filter from BMW or go to BNT and get a Hengst one for $28. Hengst make oil and other filters for BMW.

+3 dont get them from Repco/Supercheap they are total f**ken garbage (have big hot glue dags inside waiting to fall off etc etc...)

Genuine or Mahle (people like Mann too, but Ive seen some shitty ones). Mahle ones are always well made. (2c's based on 280,000km of N52s and changing oil every 7000 km :D )
