its a uk import ,makes me wonder if im missing out on some hp running low octane

the guy i got my 535 off told my to run it on 91,seems to go ok no pinking etc.maybe i should be running a higher octane

looking for an alarm myself,heaps on trademe but which one ? was talking to insurance company and if i get one with duel imobiliser function they will give a discount on premium

also do the uk cars have cats,it seems to have mufflers just about the length of the car,the front one has smaller pipes running in and out each end of it (i want to remove it)

E34 is easy check under the hood....look for the Motorsport label on the twin cam tappet cover, the car usually has M5 badges on it dont think its twin cam plugs on side of motor,rocker cover is wide and flat kinda like a crossflow falcon,its a uk import service booklet says 535i sport. 1-8-89

picked up my 535 yesterday drove it home ,man what a car thought i had owened good cars in the past but nothing compares.dont care if its a genuine motorsport anymore i aint parting with it,but i guess you guy know this allready (should of had a beamer years ago)

how can you tell if its a genuine motorsport or its just had all the shiny bits added,is there a serial no or is the engine different
