Waiting for battery to charge so I can pop it back in and see what's what. Hopefully know more in a day or so.

Still looking for my charger so not sure about charged battery. Did move last week when we fired it up with a jump start.

Seeing if there's any interest in this old girl. Was our old tow rig but I've since bought a ute.
Full service history, needs an oil change and a new alternator or battery. Started going into limp mode and aircon pump stopped working right before we discovered the alternator/battery issue, which might explain it. Aircon was fully re-gassed this year. Front lip is back on (not very well). Paint is peeling off in places, see pics. Interior is pretty good, screen has the usual spots.
Located in Waipu, will need to be trailered I guess.

Looks like the premium one has a lot more features but not sure how useful they may be as of now.
Got the highest one without the smart mechanic, so much to play around with

Managed to find the specs on the aftermarket wheels I got. Same size as the hub. Anyway I'll take them off tomorrow and check it all over.
-
I got one of those Carly scanners and it's great.

Got a steering wheel vibration/shake that comes and goes at speeds over 60km/h, can feel it through the car at highway speeds. Had an alignment/balance a few months ago. Just had the yuck run flats taken off and new tyres put on, it's almost worse now. No mention of rim issues so I presume they're fine. Doesn't look like any weights have come off either.
Thinking back to when I got my current wheels. I remember we had to cut the hub rings off on the fronts due to them not going on flush, the rear was fine with them left on. I'll jack it up and check for bearing/brake issues tomorrow. Just wondering if the lack of rings might be a factor?
Will take it to another tyre shop this week and re-check balance, in case my usual place did a crap balance job last time.

Could be, what's your budget?

Speaking of scan tools, I ran my Carly scanner through mine and it came back with oil pressure switch (002F7B).
Anyone know of a good place to get one of those?

How can you find out how many there are?
*edit* answered my own question - https://www.carjam.co.nz/nz-fleet/?order_by=count_desc&year=&make=BMW&model=130i

Anyone have a stubby antenna lying around?

Awesome! Thanks heaps

Looking at some TSW wheels of what looks to be off a 135i. 18x8 ET35 fronts and 18x9 ET42 rears, fit no probs on the 130i?

Not the best on the wallet at the time, but having them vac/test it makes it pretty likely it'll last another 10 years I reckon, so not bad value. Especially with an upcoming 5 hour trip with a 2month old...
Mine was doing the exact same when I got it, haven't been able to find a DIY kit anywhere. Unbearable driving without it now, bloody hot up in the north atm.

Sorry to come back to the tyre conversation... I need new rears. Currently have 245/35 R18, can I go straight to 255/35 or is there something I need to check first?

Yeah I'll get my mechanic on the blower in the morning. Had to reschedule on them last week when this sh*t started..... all I needed was to get a WOF 😂

So update, new battery and still no dice. Same electrical whirring noise and no crank.

Nice to see the old girl looking good again with some paint and polish. I don't miss it, always had issues.
