  1. I only have the 1 key. It is oval shape with 3 buttons. The centre being round with BMW logo. Was told to turn key, Take out and hold front button and then press centre button 3 times and then release both at same time.
  2. Have a 2001 X5. Key not working for central locking. Took it to key place and they said key looks fine on the tester. Tried the reprogramme like they said but still no go. Maybe something on the car. Anyone got any other options i could try.
  3. Hi Jochen thanks for your help. I will give it a go and let you know how i got on. I do know where the radio plug is under the spare tyre. Will all the other antennas be there as well or are they located on the left rear panel where the CD changer was.
  4. Thanks for your help again Matt.
  5. So i cant hook up a small aerial on the back.
  6. Looking for a CD unit changer to fit 2001 X5 4.4. Also need the frame around the unit. Contact Troy on [email protected]
  7. Hello have a 2001 X5 and need a NZ map disk. Does anyone know where and how much these are.
  8. Hi Guys i have the same setup as well and want to update so keen to know how you got on with units and price thanks. Bought a BMW X5 2001 from the UK but missing the CD Changer. Radio doesnt pickup channels very well and looks like the car had tints on the rear window that had been removed so damaged the antenna on the rear window. (Think thats why please tell me if im wrong.) Dont know much about electronics and how they work but 1st thing i want to do is get the radio working and ipod hooked. Any idea how i do that, Where i do it and at what price? I'm in Auckland. Seen some untis on trademe from a guy who sells a unit that plugs into your radio unit and then run the leads to the front moniter for Ipod connect and even Bluetooth. Anyone got one of these units.
  9. Forgot to mention the buzzing noise turned off after about an hour of the car sitting in the garage. But when i opened the door again this morning the buzzing noise started again. Interior lights stay on. Transmission light stays on even with the key out.
  10. Have a 4.4i 2001 X5. Been parked up in my garage for a while becuase we tend not to use it alot. The battery was flat so had to jump start it. Imediately a warning buzzing sound came from under the dash and even when i turn the key off the buzzing noise still carries on. Even disconnected the red battery cable under the hood but still keeps buzzing. Any way thought id take it for a drive to to see what happens. Drives well for about the first 15 mins then starts to make a real weird jerking movement if you accellerate hard. Almost like a transmission problem or running out of petrol. (But its not). When you stop the car and try and start it again it keeps turning over without starting. But if you wait for about 5min it fires up again. On the dash says check rear lights. Anything you guys think i can try just to check before taking it too the shop.

    X5 Issue

I have a 2001 X5 4.4 V8. Battery ran low the other day. After getting it started again the car seems to feel like its missing or the transmission faulty. Read on another website when the battery runs flats it sends all the modules and stuff haywire. Can anyone confirm a fix for this. Also an alarm sounds keeps going and doesnt stop and the radio does not work?
  12. Yeah sorry kind of new to this stuff. Thanks for your help. The X5 is missing the plate so i called Jerry Claytons who put me onto BMW NZ. Both were very helpful and got it sorted. It is a petrol so only needed Euro 3.
  13. Can someone please help me with whoever can supply me a Statement of Compliance in Auckland. And also where the UN/ECE plate can be found on 2001 X5. Imported an X5 from UK and has a couple of issues i need to get sorted before it can be complied. Your help would be much appreciated.
