LOTS of them on Ebay, and with the NZ Dollar so strong, good time to buy.
a huge thank you for that link, save a little fortune there .......... just need to get it fitted now

Hi guys
having a battery drain on my E36 330ci, I have a feeling its the FSR but not too sure as the fan still seems to work although it did seem to run on a bit longer than it should when i turned the car off??
Had a look about and the prices are shocking, JC BMW want $350 for this part not fitted!!!! any body got suggestions for a better place here in Christchurch, i could go down the breakers and try to pick one up but might have the same issues so im leaning towards a new one but bloody expensive
Thanks in advance

hey guys, recently bought a 330ci and dearly miss the idea of a small weekly gas bill !
on the look out for another car, e36 most likely,
i have seen a few topics on fuel consumption here, but still looking for a bit more clarity.
ie if there were an engine to recommend in the e36 range what would it be ? for stability / economy over power.
316, 318, 320, 323, 325 ?
I dont like the idea of a 316, i always thought a decent 323 would be friendly on the gas as i used to own a 325 that did me no harm.
I know it is a hard topic because there are many variables, ie heavy feet, tuning etc but any wisdom would be much appreciated !
I am driving an E46 330ci and dont find it that bad on fuel, on a long drive a full tank will get me 700km driving at ave of 100kmh, round about town driving I am getting between 550km & 650km ..... and i am not light footed either

The hardware does not come cheap and the coding can't be done by ur average pirate.
Damn BMW's if only i didn't like them as much ......... cheers for the feedback guys

Look there
Don't expect a $500 solution.
"Cough cough" almost choked there 2 grand holy sh*t, maybe the $2500 was not far off the mark, some good negotiation me thinks is called for

Ok so I am going to ask a really stupid question here if you buy a Jap import car, 525i year 2005 to upgrade the sat nav is it just a case of installing the latest NZ disk or does this need a total rest by the factory, the garage said a ball park figure of $2500 to do it but that seemed a tad steep.
I know that you would suggest just buy NZ new rather than import but import does have the distinct price advantage .....
Ta in advance

Hi All
Any suggestions where I can pick up a cheap (working) cd player for an E46 (330ci) I am probably going to trade the car in so would like to have a std BMW stereo fitted, when i bought it the stereo was an after market JVC one
Im thinking of changing it as having an aftermarket one may make it less desirable ??
Any ideas?
Ta Muchly

don’t be intimidated but the I-Drive, it will be a piece of piss to operate after a week or so and provides ours of entertainment while you wait in the car when the missus “pops into the mall to get somethingâ€.
Classic .... cheers

There are a sh*t load of 545i for sale, where are you looking?? TM has 50 odd.
The 530i is still a good car, but for the similar money I would defiantly go the V8, the engine in the 545i is wicked, so flexible and smooth and when the taps were open boy did it sound good, I still dream about owning another, it did not drink a heck of a lot more than the 530i, we averaged 11.5 in ours.
I have been keeping an eye on TM but most are sitting at over 100,000km, ok call me fussy but i managed to get my coup with only 57k on the clock and have now done 127k so looking for something under 100k.
But glad i found this place, rather than random checking for user reviews actually ask the people who drive them.
-
Thanks for that everybody, I was sort of swaying on it and leaning towards the 5 series, Ideally a 545 but these are a little harder to come by and more likely I will end up woth a 530, plenty of 525 around but given im driving an e46 330ci id rather not drop below a 3L engine.
Ok so widen my net now and discount the luxo barge ....... thanks heaps

Hi guys
looking for some honest feedback on the 745i 2004 model, considering upgrading to this but have heard of some horror reviews on them.
I liked the 545i too but these are a little harder to come by, dont think id drop below a 3l engine now after having the 330ci for a few years and liking the power of it
Any feedback would be appreciated
Cheers

Any hoos i will prob ask the same question in general
