Hi, Has anyone done business with King Motorsports on AliExpress? I'm keen on a front lip they offer for my E39. Also, has anyone fitted the same lip successfully to the facelift E39? Thanks for your help.

Would like to convert my standard angel eyes to white rather than the standard yellow light.
BMW gave me the heads up that some after market units sometimes have a different resistance which sets off the 'headlight alert'.
Has anyone found an alternative brand that works?
Thanks for your help.

Thank you both for your help.
Do you mean when you open the doors, a puddle of water gushes out? If so its most likely the vapour barriers, the seal may have come off, or have been removed in the past and not stuck back down properly. I had that problem on all 4 doors of my 530, one having been cut with a stanley knife by some rough bugger doing some work on the door. Bit of black mastic sealant to stick it back down fixed the problem.

With all the rain lately my E39 is retaining some water between the rear door seals. Anyone experienced this?

Thanks to you all for your help.

Pretty sure you can just do springs , I did springs and shocks on my 528 well worth doing . Msport shocks are firmer so you get a sharper drive doing both. Best upgrade is rear sway bar most have a prissy rear bar that lets the rear end roll and induces understeer quite early. Swap it out for an Msport bar , you will need new bushes as well - go urethane
proper motorsport cars are shocks, sway bars as well. Its called M sports suspension II, option S705A.
There's S704A too: M sports suspension - I don't know what the difference is, but our E39 is 704 rather than 705. It was really low, and I actually raised it about 20mm, with 10mm spacers in the strut mounts when I rebuild the suspension, so now it's normal low, instead of annoying low:
The new Sachs shocks for the sport suspension are SUBSTANTIALLY more expensive than standard ones FYI

I'm keen to lower my standard E39 530i to the same ride height as the E39 M/sport. The M/sport is a nice ride.
Can someone advise me whether it's simply different springs & what I'm up for if I use genuine parts?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Curious about the E39 prototypes, seen any pic's?

2002 E39. The original owner of my E39 did not check the auto retract function for the mirrors.
Can they be folded in manually? Thanks for your help.

Anyone used Amazon for sourcing parts, care products? Quite interested in this spoiler, if anyone knows of a local supplier I would appreciate knowing who. Thanks. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007VGPL8C/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3K9PKB3X2BDDG&coliid=I2IE7OJO9M7VA0

They are Cliff, the dream is to lower it a tiny bit. Similar to a Motorsport or Alpina package both seem to be a nice mix of handling & comfort.

Thanks Colin, yes they hold there age well.

Thanks Charles. Wasn't paying that much attention to it. Around 2/3rd's of a tank between Chch & Nelson, wasn't in any hurry. Definitely noticed it used 3/4's of the tank between Wellington & Hamilton. Enjoy your road trip.

After a long draught, 20 years, back in the BMW fold.
Picked up a nice 530i in Christchurch which naturally necessitated a road trip to return it to Hamilton. Got to get back across the Strait to do some more South Island motoring, very enjoyable. Highly recommend it.
Can endorse Acton Automotive http://www.actonautomotive.co.nz/ in Christchurch where I had it serviced prior to hitting the road. Very good service.
"Too much motor sport is barely enough" to paraphrase aussie comedians Roy & HG. I can be frequently found lurking around Hampton Downs, Pukekohe & to a lesser degree Taupo for most racing events held. With a car made to cruise long distances I might find my way to Manfield sometime this summer.
Enjoy getting happy snaps of race cars, car park finds, customs, rods...basically any cars & sharing with others on Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/29293417@N02/ If your car is in there please download a copy.

Thanks Jon, found the team name at this site, http://touringcarracing.net/Pages/p%201991%20Dijon.html
From the picture on this site Stephen has maintained the car true to it's origins.
It's a start, will have to update my entry's on Flickr. Anyone find something else let me know.

1991 E30 M3 Group A Superturismo. Been curious about this car since I first saw it at the 2012 Festival of Motor Racing celebrating BMW.
Great livery. According to the race program it's a genuine race car.
Would be interested in any history, information &/or websites anyone can suggest. Particularly the team name from the Superturismo Championship.
I like to add information to my pic's on Flickr.
Thanks.

Great pic's. Thanks for sharing them.
Curious about the E30 Group A M3 Super Turismo, great looking car. Can anyone direct me to a website about the series?

Very interested in buying an E23 85/86 'facelift' model. Would be grateful for recommendations of worthwhile books or websites to look at to help me make an informed purchase & avoid some pitfalls.
Thank you.

2002 E39, six cylinder. Will the springs & shocks fit on any other BMW?
Thanks in advance for your help.
