  1. Unless you have a copy of an agreement thats states the employee is responsible for specific things ie loss of income etc., then they are flying a kite.

However - there may be something along the lines of "property damage" "loss of income" "theft as a servant" "random drug testing" and "wilful misconduct", all of which are normal issues toward dismal.

Paying for a company loss as a servant is a bit of a joke - I am trying to image damage by an operator to a 1.75 million dollar crane, the resulting loss in income whilst parts are delivered air freight from Germay ............ really its a DoL advise issue, or does it come under Health & Safety maybe, your health and well being has been affected by their sugestive actions.

    Good luck,

    Paul

  2. Stunning car Ray. Would look just the part parked alongside my E12

Hey Grant, you can imagime Ray carrying out the groceries for little old ladies for 8 years, then 8 years later she gives him call to look after her car.

    Magical !

  3. Can the HG go on a wrong way or be the wrong one - partially covering a water way .....

Front raised, motor running, cap off, heater on, keep topping resivour, check bleeder, run till hot. Leave cap off.

Turn off - check & top up resivour when cold, run motor as normal but recheck resivour only when cold.

  4. I have to agree with Mark on this. There are people out there willing to pay this kind of money for a tidy, original E30. They're getting harder and harder to find and this one looks like it's in good nik.

Bringing down someone's for sale thread is outright rude. I'd be pissed if you two knobs chimed in like this on one of my for sale threads.

    Good luck with the sale!

A very good reason why I would not put any of mine up on this site, an understanding of that what something is is purely reflected on what an individual is prepared to pay. An individuals opinion is just that, and usually relevant to how they value the marque or their ability to work on their own car bringing it up to the level that this one is.

If its straight it will sell - it just takes a bit longer on a depressed market.

    Good luck !

  5. I'm in, just need to find a car, it may not be quick but it'll be all nice and shiney at least haha.

    IHi,

I looked at it when the news release came out, have a close look at the intrim requirements, by intrim I mean there are no "rules" as yet, only basic ideas.

Encouraging further particpation into existing catagories rather the this would have made a bit more sense, there has been a predicted decline in alot of the other Classes due to imcrease entry fees etc.

Just how race worthy is a 2k car going to be in "standard as from factory" presentation !

Coils, Pads, Fluid, Tyres will take the costs over 2k without question.

The other interesting issue is that the organisors reserve the right to purchase any of the entrants cars for $2500 !

Would this Series then mean all BMW heats will now NOT be the last of the day as has been the case !

  6. Hi all,

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere - did a search but didn't see anything relevant.

Driving to work this morning the 320i 2000 was cruising at 50km in 5th when a very noticeable power drop-off occurred - I was lucky to get up a hill. It happened 4 times in the space of 10mins.

No lights on dash (apart from a brake sensor that needs attention due to a loose wire/dirty connection).

I've had a similar problem with earlier cars that turned out to be a faulty catalitic convertor sensor. The engine nearly dies, but doesn't. Put my foot down and nothing happens, then it seems to come right.

Another faulty sensor do you think?

Also my battery is pretty much on it's last legs - low voltage.

It gets regular yearly services etc.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Sharon

    Fuel Filter ? ? ?

  7. Welcome, hope you enjoy the 328 as much as I have with mine.

Do a search on your model re "mods" - there is a lot of real practical info there which will save heaps on any knee jerk expenditure, pick off where you need the changes, I did 4 track days, changed something in between each, including suspansion bushes F & R. If you want a quick 328 (depending on model) seriously knocking on the tailgate of M3 time figures look at rear axle ratios, after you tie the front down.

    Regards

    Paul E36

Just finished a Honda era and thought I'd get a e36 328i since I've heard so much about it.

Also got an m50 manifold thinking about putting that on in the near future..

If anyone has the motorsport front lip and mesh please let me know as I'm

    looking for both! :)

  8. Vanos needs a Seal Kit maybe ........... ???

Hi Everyone. The car is running beautifully but for this.... There is a sudden loss of power in the engine. I commute on the open road daily and it can happen at any location i.e. hills, straights, bends. This has happened more frequently (3 times in last month?) but has happened once or twice only, as long as 6-8 months ago. When i shut down and start up again it seems to correct. The symptoms include, obvious loss of engine power and timing is out at idle. No signals or checks displayed in OBC or 'check' light on dash. Any ideas, anyone? This has always (so far?) happened once the car is underway on the open road. Thanks in advance. PS... I have had it on a scanner

(albeit after market) at a mechanic in Queenstown with no faults discovered. I live in Kingston (a one garage town)

  9. I have an NZ new manual E36 328is M-Sport M52 engine, 195k,

    Mileage - 3174km - 95 octane with 1 x Envirotab Octane pill per fill

    km - litre l/100k

    546 41.26 7.55

    568 45.9 8.08

    476 39.14 8.22

    529 46.6 8.81

    600 48.77 8.13

    455 39.74 8.73

32 to 38 mpg - includes track time

    My 318 Compact always averaged 6.7 to 7.3 l/100km - driven hard

Pays to keep an eye on the figures,

    Regards

    Paul - E36

  10. They should send the cars to the army firing range and then upload the footage to the army Facebook page with the offending person tagged in the video...

..... should it be driven on the Range by the registered owner, that would be cool !

The old Army Zone One, Bombing Range National Park SH One, !

I felt the Police Minister looked a "d*ck-ish" posing with the car !

  11. Guys,

as at 15th June 2012 - is there an an update / confirmation on Dates for this event at Taupo, if there is the need to combine with "another" group on the day - there would room.

Liason with PlayDay shows increases they are faced with hence the need to obtain deposits and slightly higher numbers to meet costs.

We have been discussing a combinationof groups / clubs to make up the numbers.

    Regards

    Paul - E36 328is

  12. Depending on what you are doing you may not need expensive shocks,

I would make the investment with Bilstein, I am currently doing mine, found Matt at Auto Align Mt Wellington very helpful, do not get discouraged at the fact there are none in NZ, there are options and also importing them.

A "tuned" suspension makes a very happy car, do it once - do it right

    cheers

  13. Here's my recent purchase...

    Posted Image

Pretty good condition for the most part. What ya'll reckon, good place to start ? :)

Although it is missing the black strip from the LH door, any ideas where to source these from?

I'm a little worried that water will leak in and cause an issue later on.

    Otherwise, Woo!

Nice wheels, is that Montreal Blau ?? Don't hestitate to talk to Mosen Euro Parts for bits and or other stuff like how to get it to handle on the road. I am about to put my '99 NZ new manual Compact up for sale after a big rebuild, anyway Mike & Kerry are the guys, they will not put you wrong,

    cheers

    Paul - E36 328 M-SportCoupe

  14. OOOOOO mmmmm kak !

Sympathies in great abundance x 10 - it does sound kinda big time serious, with no shortcuts to a patchup.

Radiator, Head, Head Gasket, Coolant topup resiviour, hose - hoses, waterpump, tall order to guess-tew-late (word of the day) exact fix & cost.

I have just picked up an earlier model so I know how I would feel it it happened !

Good luck but don't give up,

    Paul E36

  15. Deary me ......... shades of my own hassles 53,000k ago !

Similar prob. here with my E36 Compact, thought I did the right thing by believeing in the "shock" people, the "spring" people, and the "mechanics that know".

WRONG ! ... but its sorted now because I talked to reputable BMW people (not dealers).

I have the best handling, most economically running car that had parts replaced progressively until we got it to where I wanted it.

Sport Bilstein front and Rear, King Spring Sport pack, Mspec sway bars, complete suspension bush change, Toyo tyres, Wheel Align as per Mspec settings.

Contact me direct if you wish please,

    and good luck,

    Paul - E36

I think most would struggle to argue that the handling has been negatively affected by putting in the new springs once the rear camber issue is sorted. I guess the best way to put it, is that I wanted a nice touring ride, rather than a race-inspired rock hard ride.

    Enlighten me?

  16. We are counting down to Pukekohe this Sunday 8th Janyuary 2012 and there are a few cars missing. If you can help the Kids we would love to see you at Pukekohe. Please check the Link and join the BMW entrants in helping Kids In Cars Charity this Sunday, many thanks.

  17. The shocks aren't bottoming out, the springs are that stiff there is hardly any shock movement at all.

Has the car been a track car last year and this year - its looks identical model/colour to what pedalled very quickly at Taupo & Hampton.

I spent a bit on my E36, only to find that the spring / strut, shock package was totally incompatable with each other.

Now after monitored progressive changes it is perfect for road/track use.

Looking at its limitations and what could be done all started by speaking with Mike at Mosen Euro Parts, each small change bought about a positive result.
