ah well i am out, good luck to the other bidders. and by the way I don't blame you guys for wanting to keep them in NZ.
-
cheers spargo, but i do not see why i am a retard for wanting to buy some new wheels? shipping will be well under $300, and yes everything is worth what people are willing to pay in a market economy.
-
In the e-mail i was just asking if you got around to doing a compression test on the engine? i can also be contacted on [email protected] or 03 9824 5696 (plus whatever the dialing code is for Australia)

Damn that man knows how to steer!!
-
cheers james, just sent you an e-mail.
-
Yes the Vanos head will be a better performer as it does not have to make as many compromises as the non-Vanos one. That said it may not yield much more power and the effort of getting a new ecu wired up may mean that it is more cost efficient to keep the old head and give it a port and polish or get a low restriction exhaust system.
-
Would you be able to pack the engine into a crate if i win the auction?
-
James, I sent you a PM but it i snot showing on my sent items, if you have not received them let me know. cam

Surge, I am very interested. Why is the engine being sold? What happened to the car it came from? Just trying to get a picture of the history of the engine. cheers, cameron

Cheers, the wheels are not very light, not sure of exact weight. They are not the genuine Minilite brand that were big in the sixties, they were a magnesium alloy. They are an aussie made wheel that are just an aluminium alloy. I really only went for bigger wheels so i could get a stiffer sidewall and better choice of r compound tyres.

thanks for the nice comments guys. I would love to race it, and will at some stage i will but at the moment i can only afford one car so really not going to happen for a few years. It needs a bit more power for me to be competitive on the longer tracks for the under 2lt modified class but hopefully a worked m42 will help that department. I am actually over is Aus. we have a racing series for 325i e30s is this similar to what you guys have? The web page for the series is: http://www.e30racing.com.au

Hey all, looks like a good group you have here. I hope i can find some info that i need and with a bit of luck help someone else out. I have a 1988 e30 that i purchased stock as rock about three years ago. Since then it has had a bit of work done to make it a bit more reliable for the car club sprints and motorkhanas that i do. cheers, cam
