  1. Hi all .I have the yellow motor picture warning light come up on my dash, owners manual says exhaust emission control valves problem!! still running fine though. serous prob ? anyone know its an e39 2002 525i sw

  2. The AC belt comes off by releasing the tensioner from underneath the car. You remove the two retainer clips on the shroud, undo the viscous coupling, lift the shroud and remove the fan & coupling. You can then change the alternator belt. If this is out of your range of abilities... get a professional to do do it for you

cool thanks for the help ,sort of what I thought . be a lot easer to do it up in the air so I think ill get the workshop to do it. many thanks.

  3. Rubbish... you don't need to remove the radiator and do all that to change a drive belt. Remove viscous coupling, raise the shroud to remove it and change the belt

yep this e39 is like new under the bonnet, however the drive belt is behind the aircon belt so I"d do both belts at the same time.does the top of the shroud separate ,by undoing those plastic clips ? would be nice to have a workshop manual anyone know where I could get one? thanks shane.

  4. So when is there power on the washer heaters? What switches them on? Now that it is winter here in Christchurch, I would be interested to know?

The original tubing does get brittle, but I found that clear plastic tubing from the Mitre10 garden section, with the ends heated in boiling water fits really well.

also they sell the black mico irrigation pipe just heat the end with the wifes hair dryer, looks the same as factory

  5. thanks for that.had never seen wires on washer jets before .I replaced the hoses as they had gone brittle and the pressure has come back .however the seems to be a leak in the top half of the reservoir looks like that tucked up behind the innerguard? Anyone know? Its a station wagon.
