Sorry for the delayed response! Thanks for replying though. I'm not sure how to explain it properly, but if I accelerate quickly and change gear, when engaging the clutch there's a slight noise. It's not really too bad and the gearbox is fine otherwise, but this noise indicates an impending repair on the way. Thanks.

Hello, My transmission has a little bit of "play" in it and might be in need of repair sometime soon. I have been told by a BMW repairer that these cannot be repaired and that one must replace the gearbox, at a cost of around 6995.00. However I spoke to a gearbox repair specialist and they told me they'd be able to repair it. What's the deal here, has anybody else had experience repairing these transmissions?
